Spike's Bitches 47: Someone Dangerous Could Get In

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

I cannot make the numbers work to go back to michigan for my friend's wake. I'm beyond upset about this. I'll be out in October and visit his family, and our friends, but I want to be there right now and I can't be. I know I'm not the only one who can't make it, so I'm not alone in that. Still, upsetting. Mostly I'm still in shock, though.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Ergh, I'm sorry, Sean. I'm sure they will understand and appreciate it when you do come.

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

I'm so sorry, Sean. Is there any private gesture or ritual you can do on the day of the wake even if you can't physically be there?

eta: Oh, Scrappy, dear. Much love to you and your mother.

Can I interrupt with some happy, wonderful news about how much I love my brother? Because I just received an Amazon package from him.

The first gift was a new edition of The Resistance, a game I was really sad to lose because it was in my backpack when it was stolen. The message:

Because someone stealing your game is probably the best justification to upgrade.

And the second gift was the Dreamblood Duology, by N.K. Jemisin, which I have not even heard of because apparently it just came out a few months ago!

Because a duology is nothing once you've gotten through A Song of Ice and Fire.

He hasn't read them and his fiancée hasn't read them, but the Internet said they were good, even better than the Inheritance Trilogy. I was really excited, I told him, because I had seen N.K. Jemisin at Comic-Con and really liked her so I was interested in checking out her work.

"I know," he said.

HE ACTUALLY WENT THROUGH MY HUNDREDS OF COMIC-CON PICTURES AND REMEMBERED THIS VITAL PIECE OF INFORMATION.

Like Jon Snow, I know nothing about Dreamblood, so I am Mark-level unprepared. Please do not say anything AT ALL about what it's about or what it's like, but basically my brother is awesome.
