Get up...get up, you stupid piece of... What did you do that for? What's wrong with you? Didn't you hear a word he said? All of you! You think there's someone just going to drop money on you?! Money they could use?! Well, there ain't people like that. There's just people like me.

Spike's Bitches 47: Someone Dangerous Could Get In

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Yeah, I do magic loop. Does that mean I don't have to learn double pointed?

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

I find magic loop more intimidating than dpns, but maybe that's because I learned how to use dpns a long time ago and am very comfortable with them.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

I feared magic loop until I did it (it was new! And talked anout by those hip knitters! And i didnt realize it was actually the same as that thing i called "faking it because i can't be arsed to get the right size of dpns when there's a circular right the hell here!") and then immediately quit using dpns for anything. I never feared dpns, but I was never comfortable with them either -- too many pieces pointing in too many directions, and I tend to lose 2 or so of each set.

Not drunk posting, fwiw. Just phone posting.

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

I loathe these "there's hope if you stand up to cancer" fundraisers. "If we can send a man to the moon, we can beat cancer" is nonsense. Beating cancer exponentially harder, because it's not one disease, it's hundreds of ways cells can go mad. Engineering is way easier than medicine.

Also, I hate hearing about dead people who were cheerful and always had hope.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Ugh Ginger.

Ginger, I totally understand that. I have had enough of hearing about disabled person who never let their disability get them down and still managed to do amazing things to last me a lifetime. I also meant to say the other day that you should please post whenever you need to. I think about you often, but I don't want to bug you too much about how you are doing unless you don't want to talk about it. If there is anything you need, you should speak up.

Woe to the fucking wicked.

Ginger, I feel you on that, and I'm far more peripheral to that shit than you are.

Right now, my feet are painfully swollen, but I haven't been able make myself follow the doctor's suggestion of icing them. This is the beginning of my week off chemo, so they should get better in a few days. Right now, I'm attempting to stave off Wells Fargo, because I completely forgot that my home equity loan was supposed to be paid in full in 10 years. This is the same Wells Fargo loan that added to the ravaging of my credit score when Wells Fargo arbitrarily and illegally reduced the amount available. They did that to many people, were sued and lost. There's a part of me that wants to say, "If you can break the terms of the contract, so can I."

Thrive to spite them

I was going good and dropped a stitch , I thought, and picked it back up and everything looked fine and then I counted and I've got one 1 extra stitch and after turning the knitting around I can't figure out where I threw in the extra and how to get it out so I'll go to the yarn shop tomorrow.

I was talking on the phone with mom and working on the knitting so I guess I'm fairly comfortable with the double points now.
