Grapes and berries in fridge. Other fruit out.
What Scrappy Said.
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

everything but tomatoes in the fridge.
Fridges make peaches go all mealy.
Huh.
I miss real homegrown tomatoes. When I see a tomato that all pale and mealy in the middle, I throw it away. Gross.
Yeah, I know, I could go to the farmer's market.
As Scrappy goes, so goes my fruit storage. Even when my kitchen is super warm.
Eta: oh, wait, plums go into the fridge at least some of the time, because of William Carlos Williams.
Bananas and citrus on the counter (lemons & limes straight into fridge) melon and apples on a coolish porch. Peaches on the counter until ripe, then fridged because we can't eat them all before they spoil. Cherries, grapes and strawberries into fridge. Grapes, strawberries and peaches get washed and dried, peaches get pitted and sectioned, skin on, and each fruit gets frozen on flat trays, then bagged and kept frozen for smoothies in the case of peaches and berries, or for eating out-of-hand.
Good grief, Beverly, that's more effort than I put into making my meals. Or anything, really.
Everything usually stays out to ripen because fruit rarely lasts long in our house once it's ripe. Avocado, berries, and tomatoes are the big exceptions as they need to go in the fridge once they are ripe to stop the ripening process.
wow, didn't think that project would tire me out. Just hung one of those mop/broom hook thingies in the laundry closet. But standing up on the chair showed how tired/weak my legs are today. Hope it's just because I did a lot of walking around Target this morning and Lamps Plus this afternoon. Anyhow, that project is done, as is the hook on the bedroom door for the robe. Slowly making this place home.
I'm with scrappy. Fridge is only for berries and grapes, everything else stays out on the counter and I just have to eat it before it goes off. I sometimes put half an avocado in the fridge after it's been cut open and if I won't be eating it within 12 hours...but I hate how much flavor they lose after being refridgerated. Same with tomatoes, saps away the flavour.
