wow, didn't think that project would tire me out. Just hung one of those mop/broom hook thingies in the laundry closet. But standing up on the chair showed how tired/weak my legs are today. Hope it's just because I did a lot of walking around Target this morning and Lamps Plus this afternoon. Anyhow, that project is done, as is the hook on the bedroom door for the robe. Slowly making this place home.
Spike's Bitches 47: Someone Dangerous Could Get In
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
I'm with scrappy. Fridge is only for berries and grapes, everything else stays out on the counter and I just have to eat it before it goes off. I sometimes put half an avocado in the fridge after it's been cut open and if I won't be eating it within 12 hours...but I hate how much flavor they lose after being refridgerated. Same with tomatoes, saps away the flavour.
For me every fruit except bananas get fridged. But Olympia is really heavy on the fungi, and stuff just rots if left out - even tomatoes.
My finger is a lot less swollen today, though the swollen part is now all bruised and purple. I'm keeping it taped for another day or two, I think.
Grapes and berries in fridge. Other fruit out.
Woo! I am scrappy.
finger~ma, Hil.
With reference to the discussion about fruit, today I had a banana that had only two ridges on its outer surface and one on its inner surface. Dangit, huge forest fire in southern WA blowing huge amounts of smoke and ash into Portland. The whole city smells like burning (which is super fun for work) but I *just* realized (after hours of calls) that I left all my windows open and fans on because it was hot yesterday. And I varnished a half dozen pysanky before leaving home...i'm pretty sure that varnish should have cured before the wind switched the ash into my yard.
eta: and before I sound like a totally heartless bitch for being woried about my crafts, reports are that while almost 2 acres of wildfire are burning, no homes are threatened and no1 has been injured. And the people of Portland are justifiably freaked out about the smell, and thus inundating us with pointless 911 calls that is preventing me from reading my book, and that makes me cranky.
We try to have some out so I can eat it if I'm alone(obviously not scoring at home...) but I like cold fruit when I can get it. Portland, you must chill.
yay! no ash in my varnish, only in my bedroom. That can be fixed.
Yikes, Erin, but glad your pysanky (my spell-checker suggests I mean swanky, which is probably also true!) are okay.

Oh well, we had a good run.
peaches get pitted and sectioned, skin on, and each fruit gets frozen on flat trays, then bagged and kept frozen for smoothies
Ooh, this is a good idea.
