Sounds fun, Jilli.

Spike's Bitches 47: Someone Dangerous Could Get In
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Tell me you are belly dancing to The Cure.
I would assume so! Anyway, classes start in September, so that's when I'll find out.
Hey, let's start a Kickstarter for me to come to Seattle to take that class with Jilli.
For, um...art?
Hee! Yes, for art!
My friend: I love that you're a pissed-off mega-leftist generally. But the punk-rock Diogenes thing? Is a little played. Smooches.
Man. I slept ten hours last night and then took two two-hour naps. I really didn't realize I was so stressed out by the storm. I just couldn't do anything. I couldn't even make myself go to Nora's even though I knew it would make me feel better. All I could do was sleep.
It felt strangely familiar, and then I realized: this is how I felt for years, when I was really depressed. Too exhausted to cook, or leave the house, or be productive. In an odd way, it validated my struggles back then and I also want to say to those who are struggling now, like askye:
Go easy. Be kind to yourself. You are doing the best you can. What you are going through is real, not imaginary, and it is really difficult.
This message brought to you by Hurricane Isaac.
I was definitely more stressed about the storm than I realized. I think next storm I will give greater thought to evacuating. I don't know. Even though everything worked out OK this week, it was super stressful, in ways I only feel now that the danger has passed.
I think next storm I will give greater thought to evacuating.
Just so you know, evacuating is also very stressful. I think it's actually more stressful than staying put, which is why people prefer not to.
{{Nora and smonster}} Storms are very stressful! Whether you stay or go, stressful. I have stayed for all but one. This year I happened to be out of town. I love the actual storm part, but I'm a storm loving freak. But the whole gathering supplies, hunkering down, and worrying, and living without power, and the resulting debris field are stressful. We shutter for storms so it is dark in the house which is kinda awful too.
It is good to hear you made out so well. Alas, too many people were not so fortunate. I hope life gets back to routine soon.
