But I understand. You gave up everything you had to find me. And you found me broken. It's hard for you.

Spike's Bitches 47: Someone Dangerous Could Get In

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

It's an outpatient operation.

Yeah, that blows me away. Definitely jealous. (Yes, mine was wildly successful, and I'm not complaining about that, but outpatient and no 6-inch scar down my back would have been lovely.)

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

omnis,

I cannot believe they can do disc ops laproscopically (sp?). That's amazing.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

I know! When I was born, I had pyloric stenosis, and needed life-saving surgery at age six weeks. It left a distinct, puckered scar on my abdomen (which over the course of my childhood migrated from below to above my navel, bodies are weird). My nephew had the same condition. He had keyhole surgery done, and there's no sign whatsoever that it ever happened.

I love medical advances. They're so cool.

Yeah, my grandma had her gallbladder out in the 30s and they cut a 2-foot long hole in her abdomen. Mom had hers out in the 70s and the scar was about 4-inches. My sister had hers removed around 2,000, laparoscopically, and I think the scars have disappeared.

Thrive to spite them

The Fair was fun. We went, I was anxious but Will reassured me if I felt bad at any point we could leave (I should know this but the reassurance helped). It's the first day of school so the Fair wasn't crowded (at least that's my theory).

We went to the various exhibits and saw the New Record Breaking Giant Pumpkin. It was 1300 lbs or something like that. 4 H projects, saw the various animals. Petted goats, sheep, llama and a donkey. There was weaving and spinning. I think at some point I want to try a drop spindle.

And we split - corn dog, ear of corn, deep fried oreos, and collard greens. There was a competition BBQ place from my home town! Which is where we got the greens.

All in all it was really nice time. I'm glad I went. I'm thinking of making a scarf like I made for my aunt to enter into the Home Crafts Competition next year.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

Awesome, askye. Glad you had fun.

Omnis, sorry the home woes are compounding.

I get really car sick and pills etc don't really help me. You may want to tell your FIL to get the motion sickness bands you put around your wrists. Those are like a godsend. Also, I heard ginger in the belly button (with a bandaid) works well.

Thanks for that. I've passed the info on to Biyi. (Ginger is insanely cheap in China, unsurprisingly; I think they'll like a ginger-based solution.)

Yesterday, Biyi had to work late and I was in the office, so we arranged for Ryan to go home from childcare with his best friend Lucas. They were reportedly quite excited by it all. What really tickles me is that apparently the other children were also excited for them. "You're going to Lucas' house!" I like Ryan's childcare.

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

I think I may have found the perfect exercise class for me. One of the (now local) belly dancers runs a weekly Goth belly dance class. Tribal belly dance, but with all-Gothy music. One of my friends is also friends with the teacher, and she said that I would have so much fun doing it.
