The one hair-related thing I am willing to insist upon is that it has to brushed at least once a day, ideally twice. Otherwise the knots become a pain to brush out. That said I am sure that this summer she went several days at a go without touching brush to head.
'Get It Done'
Spike's Bitches 47: Someone Dangerous Could Get In
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
9 times out of 10 - especially this summer - brushing is all I ask for. But if we are going somewhere or when she goes to school, at the very least I would like for it look neat and nicely kept and ideally, out of her face. If it's not back in some sort of thing, she looks like a ragamuffin and is constantly pushing it out of her face. Plus, the reason she's growing it out is because she felt self-conscious that at the ballet recital last spring, she was the only one with short hair. So, to be a bunhead, she wants long hair, all one length. However, her hair naturally falls forward from a center part so we are also trying to "train" it to go back.
Maybe I'll feed her more eggs. See if it grows any quicker.
To you she looks like a ragamuffin, to everyone else she looks like a cute little girl. Don't worry about it.
I "train" my hair to fall away from my face by putting in a high topknot while it's wet, so the roots dry pulled back and that works really well (for my hair, at least, YMMV). Of course, my hair is also long enough that i can tie it into a topknot without any elastics or clips...one does want to be gentle with wet hair so it doesn't break.
Finally got into see the dr and I do indeed have the dreaded genital warts. Boooo. So now I have to decide whether to go ahead with "treatment" (i.e. getting em frozen off.) In slightly brighter news, they are definitely shrinking, so maybe they'll just go away on their own and I won't have to seriously consider liquid nitrogen on my most tender of tender places? A girl can dream. edited to clean up my html and unspoil all the following posts.
Aims, I just wanted to say that I have the same issues with Ellie. She has long fine hair that one of us brushes every morning but it is so fine that it looks kind of tangled at the end of the day. Despite my offers of ponytails and barrettes, she likes to just let it all hang in her face. Your post actually cheered me up because I'm glad I'm not the only one.
Frisco, otoh, loves for me to make his hair "spiky" but I guess I don't use enough gel? Because it never lasts all day. But so cute!!

I took a call earlier tonight from a guy claiming that some 'random psycho' jumped into his parked car, bit his female friend on the neck repeatedly, and then ran away. He swore it was a total stranger and described about the most pedestrian casual person ever: wm, 20s, blu tshirt, bjs.
Right. Let it be know, vampires and/or zombies are apparently on the loose in downtown PDX. The dispatcher even asked me if there were any 'wierd conventions' in town tonight and I could tell them no. No wierd conventions in town tonight, not even any decent goth clubs. Just a casual acting like a jerk. Or possibly the beginning of the zombie apocalypse. Or maybe a frat boy with a few too many beers in him. Tough to say, the caller strangely decided to wait 30 minutes before calling and then didn't want medical. Hrm. The conspiracy grows!
Hi.
I didn't write/read here for a few days, so my brackets and ~mas to those who need it.
On Sunday night (my time) I got the terrible news that a dear friend from another board passed away. She was in her 30s, and it was very unexpected (no severe health problems). I mourned, and still am mourning the loss of her as a "real life" friend. She was very present in my everyday online life in the past years, and I still can't imagine or grasp that I won't talk with her again. The sense of missing for never come to the States to meet her F2F is depressing. I think I'm now over the initial shock, but the first three days were a hectic storm of shock and grief. We (her friends) are trying to fill the void she left behind, but it seems impossible.
She is greatly missed.
Oh, Shir. I'm so sorry. How shocking and sad. Much ~ma to you in dealing with your grief.
Seven and a half hours until the weekend...SO CLOSE!
I'm very sorry, Shir.
