Spike's Bitches 47: Someone Dangerous Could Get In

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

Big major stress in my life -all the small things get cranked to 11. I'll be discussing this with my new therapist.

Oh, for sure. Any big stress raises my vulnerability to emotional overwhelm quite a lot. It's so great to hear that Will is a) wanting to know how to help and b) paying attention to patterns. It's often easier for someone not in the throes of the emotions to notice triggers and such.

Tidy lvg rm next, then shower.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

86 mile drive in the rain on a windy mountain road= no fun. But we made it here safely. The restaurant is closed, but the bar is open.

Trust my rage

Glad you guys made it! It's a pretty drive when not slippery and wet.

Stephanie, It looked very pretty until it got wet and dark. It was so good to see you today!

Or, yanno, get sucked down the internet rabbithole of posts about mansplaining. Gah. Dear self, yes, you are going to be up late. That is no reason to procrastinate more!

Current standing, with note that "Pack" contains many subtasks. Argh.

Do dishes (10 min so far)
Update budget
Pay rent and message J
Edit cat instructions
Tidy lvg rm (started)
Ready package to ship
Gather Frankie food, bed, etc
Wrap prezzie
Change ink in printer
Measure suitcase
Pack
Scoop pans and add litter
Shower

I will note that I 1) just paid my rent ahead of time; 2) finally finished paying the security deposit and started paying deferred water bill [thank you for your patience, kind landlady] 3) told landlady she can cash the check, because I have the money in my account to cover it, although she'll be cashing 3 mos worth at one time.

MOTHERFUCKING ADULT AND SHIT. Now, this adult is going to go shower. Truly.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

The one hair-related thing I am willing to insist upon is that it has to brushed at least once a day, ideally twice. Otherwise the knots become a pain to brush out. That said I am sure that this summer she went several days at a go without touching brush to head.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

9 times out of 10 - especially this summer - brushing is all I ask for. But if we are going somewhere or when she goes to school, at the very least I would like for it look neat and nicely kept and ideally, out of her face. If it's not back in some sort of thing, she looks like a ragamuffin and is constantly pushing it out of her face. Plus, the reason she's growing it out is because she felt self-conscious that at the ballet recital last spring, she was the only one with short hair. So, to be a bunhead, she wants long hair, all one length. However, her hair naturally falls forward from a center part so we are also trying to "train" it to go back.

Maybe I'll feed her more eggs. See if it grows any quicker.

To you she looks like a ragamuffin, to everyone else she looks like a cute little girl. Don't worry about it.

Occasionally I’m callous and strange

I "train" my hair to fall away from my face by putting in a high topknot while it's wet, so the roots dry pulled back and that works really well (for my hair, at least, YMMV). Of course, my hair is also long enough that i can tie it into a topknot without any elastics or clips...one does want to be gentle with wet hair so it doesn't break.

Finally got into see the dr and I do indeed have the dreaded genital warts. Boooo. So now I have to decide whether to go ahead with "treatment" (i.e. getting em frozen off.) In slightly brighter news, they are definitely shrinking, so maybe they'll just go away on their own and I won't have to seriously consider liquid nitrogen on my most tender of tender places? A girl can dream. edited to clean up my html and unspoil all the following posts.

Trust my rage

Aims, I just wanted to say that I have the same issues with Ellie. She has long fine hair that one of us brushes every morning but it is so fine that it looks kind of tangled at the end of the day. Despite my offers of ponytails and barrettes, she likes to just let it all hang in her face. Your post actually cheered me up because I'm glad I'm not the only one.

Frisco, otoh, loves for me to make his hair "spiky" but I guess I don't use enough gel? Because it never lasts all day. But so cute!!
