Spike's Bitches 47: Someone Dangerous Could Get In

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

Today is kind of making up for yesterday... I may have scored a ticket to Voodoo Fest tonight (MCR!!!!!!) for less than retail price.

Compassionately intolerant

I am engaged in a "my dog is cuter" contest on fb with my ex gf. That counts as being productive, right? ...right?

Frankie wins! No contest. (all due respect to the potentially cute, but not as cute other dog)

Hell yeah. Defend Frankie's honor.

ION, there's been a mix-up at my veterinary clinic. Not as serious as the wrong body part getting removed, but I'm not cool with it. Last spring, we left the cats to be boarded there while we went to visit Daniel's mom for a few days. Because it was within a month of when Sammie was due for her annual shots/exam, I asked them to do that while she was with them. When we picked the cats up, the bill was slightly higher than I expected, but I chalked that up to the rising costs of stuff. The receipt had three pages to it. When I looked at it, I apparently did not look closely enough to realize that they had also charged me for vaccinating Harvey. So this September when I asked about making an appointment for him, they said, he's up to date until April, that they had done both cats at the same time. I asked why they would do that; the response was probably so that both cats could always be brought in at the same time. It's been too long, so there is no way to remember precisely how I worded any instructions to them.

But here's the thing: I have always appreciated having the cats' annual shots/exam on opposite ends of the year, because it's more easily budgeted. Having them both at the same time means that any year I decide to go for full blood work and dental cleaning I am facing a $600 vet bill. Now that I have wiped out all the savings with my own medical bills (and I'm still paying on 'em, so the savings is not growing at an optimal rate) that will never happen. I can't imagine actually instructing them to do that to my budget.

And I'm torn between being mildly annoyed because there was obviously a misunderstanding, and pissed the f*ck off because who made that decision?!? And I don't really know what to do about it.

As for a payment plan.

Tom's mom died today and a hidden pole ripped my front bumper off as I prepared to go tp lunch. Dropped the car off at a local body shop and am eating lunch. And drinking a goddamn beer. I really hope that Tom doesn't need to find out about the car thing. Not today, anyway.

I just caught up Nora, and while I think it wasn't unexpected, it's still really hard. Please give Tom my condolences. Safe travels to him as well.

I'm also sorry to hear about the car crap.

Goodness, I totally missed the sad news about Tom's mother. I'm sorry, Nora.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

Uggh. Was five minutes late for my Genius Bar appointment, and they had moved on. Stoopid traffic. Waiting to see if something opens up.

Sadly, I am not going to Voodoo tonight. I may end up on the hook for the ticket, but I just can't afford it. Also, I'm completely exhausted.

next available appointment is over an hour away. ::sigh::

Our wings are not tired.

Bubblewrap and comfort for Hil, Ginger and any other Buffistas in pain or discomfort.

An exercise in restraint...let me show you it.

More than restraint! I am so sorry you have to put up with Groomzilla when your time would be better spent comforting poor Bartleby. Extra hugs for you and Bartleby.

Quick recovery~ma for Hubs.

Peaceful thoughts for Sox and family.

And condolences to Nora & Tom.

Lots of ~ma headed toward your DH, Maria.

My oh my, I was far behind because of the stresses of my life and I see I have plenty of company. As many of you know from Facebook, I finally let Brandy go this week. It was the right decision, but I know the pet lovers here understand it is still a most unpleasant responsibility.

Work and family are both stressful and exhausting. I think I need to find some escape this weekend. In between work. At least catch up on some recorded tv or something.

My back is better, in that there's no longer screaming when I stand up or lean over. Now it just feels like I did about 500 situps, so every time I cough, sneeze or laugh it hurts. Also, all the codeine is gone. Why is all the codeine gone?

This is, however, small potatoes to others here, whom I wish to be well and peaceful and strong.
