Spike's Bitches 47: Someone Dangerous Could Get In

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

"And that's why God Almighty gave us fire insurance and the public defender".

Oh, smonster. That does sound frustrating.

OK, I seem to have a fair amount of shirts and pants with a loose button. Now, I suck at sewing. I mean, the button stays on for awhile. And thanks to my aggressive cris-cross back n forth pattern on the button, when the thread starts giving, it takes awhile for it to go all off. My question, is there a better way of doing it? I mean, I guess maybe I'm tying off wrong or something? Or a gizmo that is great? I seem to recall a As Seen On TV type of thing to quickly sew on buttons thing. Do they work?

Signed, not very crafty when it comes to needle & thread, and too cheap to bring to dry cleaners/tailor

Damn, Strix, that sucks. But yay on getting the yard cleaned out!!

On a happier note, I love glazing windows while listening to podcasts. Very soothing.

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

Yard will get cleaned tomorrow; guy had a car problem. That;s okay, though.

Go team first aid + judicious googling. I kept my finger splinted all day, and it's definitely healing together. Part of the gash landed right on a wrinkle, so I think I'll just have a small scar on the side of the knuckle. I'm going to keep it splinted for at least another day or two.

I think I may have damaged a nerve (Things I Won't Tell My Family for $1000, Alex) because there's a little numbness just above the knuckle, but I've still got full feeling in my finger tip so I'm not going to worry about it. With luck, those nerves will heal themselves (I'm basing this on my experience post-eye surgery, when it took several months to get all the feeling back in my cheek).

No swelling or signs of infection, and it definitely looks better than it did this morning. Why yes, I am taking pictures to track the healing process.

Let's hope this safety lesson lasts me a long, long time. I knew better, and I did it anyway, and I'm lucky it wasn't worse. Also, I fucking hate Bondo. I hate the way it smells, and how fast it sets up, and what a bitch it is to clean off tools. I need to find a better epoxy for us to use.
