Spike's Bitches 47: Someone Dangerous Could Get In

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

omnis, pursue. That's an order from a shy woman who can use M-16. - Shir

Skippy past shower stuff.

For those keeping score at home, the new condo has taken a huge step backwards. When we pulled up the carpet on Saturday, we noticed a depression in the floor in the bedroom by the sliding glass door. The installers said the flooring can't work with that type of dip, and asked me to go get some quickcrete from Home Depot, and they would level out that area. By the time I got back, they had removed the loose bits of the depression (since fresh concrete won't adhear to loose crap), and what was revealed was a bit of a cavern going into the garage below. And when you step back and looking at it, you can see, it's some serious damage. We are guessing either earthquake damage or hill is sliding a little, and that edge of the building has settled a bit, or some combination. Dunno. All i know is, big hole in floor going to a garage, where vapors could seep up and kill me. Bad. No cookie. We stopped flooring installation. Called HOA. VP of HOA said she will push this through ASAP. Sent email to management company with some pictures. Now, waiting. No clue how long it will take. If I can move into the other rooms. Dunno. I do know I have 15 days left in current apartment. And I can't afford rent and mortgage. We shall see what transpires.

Also, we discovered the garbage disposal was completely rusted. Swapped that out, and rearranged the pipes under the sink to try and fit garbage and recylce bins. But we are still having problems with the dishwahser discharge pipe. Will investigate tonight. Also, the kitchen sink faucet leaks a little bit. Hopefully just a washer thing.

Ah, the joys of home ownership.

Sorry if I skipped past other woes. ((( ))) for those who need it.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Oh, omnis, that's a rotten turn of luck! I hope it can be repaired with minimal fuss and no cost to you.

Yeah, wow, omnis! Rusty garbage disposal is par for the course, but hole in the floor?!? NSM.

omnis I hope they can get the hole fixed before you move in! Glad you decided to get the floors redone!

So I had my appointment at CCV with an adviser. She was really nice, I really should have had my transcripts but I still got a lot of info.

The adviser said that in some situations they'll work with financial aid so a class (like my English credit) can be retaken and covered. Also besides the FASFA info there's the Vermont Student Assistance Corporation form to fill out for financial aid. I didn't realize the Pell Grant will cover part time school, and I may qualify for that. Her advice was to take 2 classes the first semester.

Also they offer 4 class times during the day and each class meets 1 day. The class size is between 7-18 students, withe average about 12.

So I'm going to start filling out applications and transcript requests and write out pros and cons of taking 2 classes in the fall vs the spring.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

I should add that I actually think it would be very different going to a shower for someone I’m really close to -- most of the ones I’ve struggled with have been family and people I’m not as close to, which makes the forced frivolity harder to deal with for me.

This. I was actually very excited to go to the baby shower yesterday, but I was having trouble dealing with it for my own reasons. I was very excited to find out my cousin was pregnant. She has wanted a baby for a very long time, and she was starting to believe it was never going to happen for her. I started buying things for her shower gift from the moment she told me she was pregnant; she's going to be a great mom. None of which is going to keep me from mocking shower games here where she will never see the mocking. I insisted on not having games at my wedding shower. That being said; making onesies for the baby sounds like it would be great fun!

Yikes, omnis. Good luck getting that take care of asap.

askye, best of luck figuring out all of the school stuff.

TCG cleaned all the things while I was at the shower yesterday. He rocks!

"already on the kiss-cam with Karl Marx"-

We tied-dyed some at my friend Jill's shower. That was kind of nice...the only thing weird about that one was that it was, besides me, her sisters and childhood besties. Flattering to be asked, but there were a lot of in-jokes I didn't know.

Well, that was a lot quicker than I thought - I've filled out the CCV application, the FAFSA and VSAC applications.

Now I just need to figure out where I can find a fax machine I can use to fax transcript requests.

askye, those mail box places usually have fax machines. At least, mine does. Good luck! This is an exciting thing you're doing!

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

Oh no, Nora! Did she give a reason? And is Tom going to the dentist today?

Good luck, omnis. Not a fun way to kick things off.
