Happy Birthday, Zenkitty!
bonny, if you aren't completely through perimenopause and into the real deal, it could be a symptom of your variety of perimenopause. I started getting migraines in my mid-40s very similar to yours. Mostly all sensory related and they started happening around the same time as having hot flashes. One of the triggers for me was red wines and dark beers. You might want to start paying attention to what you're eating, there may be one chemical/nutrient in there that's setting them off. The good news is that the closer you get to true menopause, the less often they occur.
Zenkitty!
Happy birthday! I think it is kind of hilarious you forgot about it.
I have all the migraines in the world, but clearly no idea how to stop them, or I wouldn't have all the migraines in the world. No one ever goes to the ER when I suggest it, so I dunno. I don't have abortives.
ita !, truly, if anyone had been around, I'm certain I would have been whisked to the emergency room. It was that violent and scary. I was having too much of a problem getting up off the floor to navigate anything else.
I know I don't feel your pain...not even remotely...but I certainly have a huge sympathy over feeling powerless in the face of the migraine.

Sail, I think you are really onto something here. The migraines seem to be tied to my, still fairly regular--but changing, cycle.
I don't drink, but I do have killer carb/flour/fat cravings just as I'm puffing up to bleed. Unfortunately, at this point, I can't tell which comes first, the hormonal surge or the craving.
Today is much better. My stomach is still iffy and the pain is coming on...which is generally the good/bad news. The pain portion of the program is generally the last stage before more throwing up and then, blissful peace.
Thankfully, my only plan is to clean house today.
That was my plan, but I stopped with one room. I spent 65 minutes cleaning my kitchen. I even scrubbed out the trash can; it was naaasty.
Felicitations on your Natal Day, Zen.
The world is smarter, cooler and sweeter because you are in it!
so I am doing the pomodoro technique for packing and so far so good. 25 minutes for packing, 5 min break, then 25 min packing. I'll probably do lunch after that. then get back to it.
Happy Birthday, Zenkitty!
