it sn't a birthday wish- but it is fun
Spike's Bitches 47: Someone Dangerous Could Get In
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
I don't think that anyone has reported that amputation works, for the record. So don't rush to that option.
I have all the migraines in the world, but clearly no idea how to stop them, or I wouldn't have all the migraines in the world. No one ever goes to the ER when I suggest it, so I dunno. I don't have abortives.

What are we amputating? Because I don't think people survive decapitation but I'd trying sacrificing a toe or something. Maybe. I would tonight.
Happy birthday, Zen!
Happy Birthday, zenkitty!
nasal sumatriptan from my ex-aunt-in-law because the generic didn't work for her. They've taken my migraines from awful to tolerable 2/3 of the time. In fact, I just took one mid-posting. But the taste at the back of my throat is pretty bad. Less bad than the full headache, but significant
If you don't want to swallow pills, I highly recommend (except for the price) the dissolves-under-tongue version. The nasal stuff was weird for me (though I also was doing it wrong--more squeezing it up my nose/inhaling, when apparently you're supposed to just sort of let it get all up in your nose so it absorbs through those capillaries. Or something). I dont' like pills for migraines because I get nauseated, but the dissolving thing isn't so bad, and works pretty well (especially if I can take a nap for an hour or two after I take it)

I skip the nausea mostly. Well, I get it. But I skip the actual throwing up so it is less of an issue. I might see if I can just get a script for the pills.
Oddly as much as I thought this dose didn't work, I am feeling significantly better after a while. So maybe it was a time lapse. No way was I going to feel this much better just randomly.
Happy birthday, Zen! That is an awesome gift your BFF got you.
Happy birthday, Zenkitty!
Happy birthday, O Most Zen of Kitties!
I can't think of a suitable, semi-silly wish that truly expresses how much I wish I could kick migraines out of this galaxy for everyone.
Happy Birthday, Zenkitty!
bonny, if you aren't completely through perimenopause and into the real deal, it could be a symptom of your variety of perimenopause. I started getting migraines in my mid-40s very similar to yours. Mostly all sensory related and they started happening around the same time as having hot flashes. One of the triggers for me was red wines and dark beers. You might want to start paying attention to what you're eating, there may be one chemical/nutrient in there that's setting them off. The good news is that the closer you get to true menopause, the less often they occur.
