ND came by with an ice chest last night, so everything was saved. Power came back on some time in the night.
'Safe'
Spike's Bitches 47: Someone Dangerous Could Get In
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Yay for ice! Yay for power!
I had briefly contemplated walking around the block for lunch at the new Italian restaurant that has been there for at least a year that I have yet to try. Then suddenly I find myself sitting at my own dining room table with a plate full of squash and a leftover hamburger that Daniel made last night. He also cooked and froze the squash last fall. Normally Daniel is a big fan of all manner of seasonings, spices, favors. Last night he was a big fan of the flavor of meat. Nothing added to the hamburger when he cooked 'em. All I added to this squash was a bit of salt.
So perfect.
So I guess Italian food would not have been the thing right now.
Ouch. Woke up still stiff/sore. Not majorly. just enough to feel it. Stupid work, and moving chain and rigging hardware around all afternoon.
Sean, glad to hear ND saved the day, and power is back on. Was he wearing a cape? A big I on his chest (for Iceman or some such?)
OK, need to get to work. Running late.
Glad to hear it, Sean!
Oh, good to hear, Sean.
Weather here is just so nuts. I thought the rain would last all day, but it dissipated and it's bright and sunny. I'm at work by myself, just plodding along. Lots going on in town this weekend...
IF that's crazy... it's raining in Southern California... in the summer time! Not sure how often that happens. But, I'd say it's rare. Granted, the "rain" is more a drizzle to those of us who know precipitation. But still. Water falling from the sky in the desert.
It disturbs me that I'm finding 84degF to be rather comfortable.
But it's not very humid, so I guess that's the difference. It's rarely not-humid here.
So there's a bit of a kerfuffle - or rather, a could-be kerfuffle - on one of the pictures that was posted of the wedding Emeline and I were just in. My stepmother-in-law made a comment that she must be old because she just doesn't understand flip-flops as wedding attire. Now, frankly, I wasn't wild about the idea, but we had cute sundresses, it was an outdoor wedding in the grass, and it was hotter than blazes. The day of, I switched from my heels to my flip flops as soon as I could.
Anyway, the bride saw the comment and responded pretty ... snappishly. Part of me wants to email the bride and say, "It's SMIL - she would never mean to say something shitty." But the other part, knows she said something that really didn't need to be said where the bride could SEE it and she can fight her own battles should she choose to.
People. Sheesh.
Wait, was the bride wearing flipflops, Aimee? Or directing you to put them on? I don't get it...
There was a thunderstorm here in Seattle--thunder and lightning and rain! So weird...so not Seattle.
"It's SMIL - she would never mean to say something shitty."
But...didn't she? She's a grown up. What does "never mean to" mean in the face of having done so?
