Cass, I'm sorry your had to choose between the alternatives you did. My best to you and your Dad.
Karl, my continuing thoughts are with you.

Cass,
what everyone else said but I've had one distracting thought running through my head all day about your situation...
how are you able to relocate? I'm glad you'll be closer to your father, it sounds like it is something you both need, but how can you manage it?
Being willing to walk away from a place and life I love, mostly. I have to choose, I choose time with my dad. I can move again later.
I mean, a year ago I would have said that I couldn't. But now the alternative is worse. I guess the answer is how can I not? I'm single and Puppycat doesn't get a vote. Though I am hoping she gets a tranq for the trip. She hates being in the box in a car.
And I am developing a close, personal relationship with the guy at the donation truck. Also my hand brace. I expect audiobooks will help too.
I wish you didn't have to make this sort of choice, but I will do whatever I can to help get you through it.
Not our business, but do you have a way to make a living with this sudden a move? Or will you have to look for work?
yes. please tell us how we can help. I'm packing up a bunch of stuff and donating more, so if there are things I can help with, please let me know.
Cass, I am so sorry you had to make this decision, though I'm not surprised at the result.

This. At the end of the day, it's just a place to live. Family and friends, OTOH? We know the kind of sacrifices we're willing to make. More time is more precious than most anything else.
If there's anything I can do for you, please let me know.
Oh, Cass, I think you are making a good choice and you know that, but I know it's bound to be hard for you. Sending all kinds of good thoughts your way.
Since my last post, I got a call that my mom is in the hospital. Lesions on her lungs which could be:
She's 84 and has had cancer twice already, so let's all root for pneumonia, shall we? She sounds pretty good, considering. They are keeping her in the hospital at least overnight, probably longer. I'll know more later.
Much Mom~ma, Scrappy.
