We can come by between classes. Usually I use that time to copy over my class notes with a system of different colored pens. But it's been pointed out to me that that's, you know...insane.

What does one do with a quart at a time of veggie broth? I have this drive to use things but what?

I usually use it over several days. Instead of water to cook rice or quinoa like TB said, unless I am making a pot of soup. Or you can use some of it and freeze in one use portions. I recently saw 4 packs of 1 cup containers that seemed like a good idea.

Hmm, I will try the using it to boil things. That just seems slightly wasteful when I am fine using water. Possibly two of the three will just need to find a new home. Plenty of people must *want* to use veggie broth. Or I am underestimating the deliciousness it will bring.

I feel it adds a lot of flavor, but that may just be me. We also tend to add cumin or other spices to the broth before adding the grains. I'm sure a homeless shelter or a some other charity would be happy to take them if you really don't want them.

I am over stuffed for the second day in a row. Mom made lobsters tonight.

I will absolutely donate them if the grains thing doesn't work out for me. And I can freeze smaller amounts.

I really love lobster.

Calli: My people have a saying. A man who trusts can never be betrayed, only mistaken.Avon: Life expectancy among your people must be extremely short.

rice (or other grains) cooked in broth really tastes better than plain. If you are looking for cold weather dishes:

To rice, add black, kidney, pinto, or red beans plus: coriander, cuman, and maybe some chile peppers. Chicken or beef or pork ground turkey a nice addition, but if you are going to eat cold only super low fat (i.e. boneless skinless chicken breasts, the 99% fat free ground turkey ). Because other wise the animal fat gels to me is gross.

To Pliaf or Couscous add garbzanzo beans amd curry power. If you want meat, chicken or ground turkey no beef no pork -again ultra low fat.

Oh yeah in either case, salt, pepper, garlic to taste. Parsley for the rice but not the curry.

I just figured out my resistance to the veggie broth. It's vegetable soup. I hate vegetable soup. Luckily I read the ingredients and finally twinged to it when I saw it could be eaten as a soup.

erin_obscure, want four (yeah, there are four) quarts of TJ's Organic low-sodium vegetable broth? If not, I can donate it. I just like knowing things are actually used.

I will be all over those food ideas with chicken or a clear, light broth.

Sure! Getting home tonight after a couple weeks away from home I have a LOT of cooking to do. Feel like coming over for dinner tomorrow night? Or I could bring something to your place if yr up for some low key company.
