I'm a single undead gal trying to make it in the big city. I have to start somewhere and they're evil here. They don't judge. They've got necro-tempered glass. No burning up. A great medical plan, and who needs dental more than us?

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

So glad for the good news, Cass.

Cass, I'm so relieved for the better-than-expected news!

Karl, my heart goes out to you. I am glad you were able to lean on us and get through the day.

Kisses to you both.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Oh Cass, glad to hear that the your father is responding well to the treatment. Always hold on to the good news, I say.

And Karl, I'm sorry.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Cass, I know that any good news right now feels like it has to be taken with a spoonful of salt

This is a good description of what it feels like.

But what I really need to do is focus on the good news. His tumors did respond to radiation and he didn't have have any really awful side effects. I need to be (and have been) given hope from that.

I had some cooked meat go bad in my fridge. Wow, that was disgusting. And I really need to go grocery shopping soon. What is making is lag is that I have one full shelf in my pantry and I feel like I should use some of that first. Problem is that there are three quart containers of vegetable broth. What does one do with a quart at a time of veggie broth? I have this drive to use things but what?

Calli: My people have a saying. A man who trusts can never be betrayed, only mistaken.Avon: Life expectancy among your people must be extremely short.

Cook rice or pilaf or couscous in it, then add protein and veggiens? Make a lot of this casserole, eat some of it and freeze the rest for later. (Or eat off it for several days if you don't mind eating the same thing a bunch of days in a row,) If you have or are expecting hot weather make a casserole that is good cold.

I usually use it over several days. Instead of water to cook rice or quinoa like TB said, unless I am making a pot of soup. Or you can use some of it and freeze in one use portions. I recently saw 4 packs of 1 cup containers that seemed like a good idea.

Hmm, I will try the using it to boil things. That just seems slightly wasteful when I am fine using water. Possibly two of the three will just need to find a new home. Plenty of people must *want* to use veggie broth. Or I am underestimating the deliciousness it will bring.

I feel it adds a lot of flavor, but that may just be me. We also tend to add cumin or other spices to the broth before adding the grains. I'm sure a homeless shelter or a some other charity would be happy to take them if you really don't want them.

I am over stuffed for the second day in a row. Mom made lobsters tonight.

I will absolutely donate them if the grains thing doesn't work out for me. And I can freeze smaller amounts.

I really love lobster.
