Spike's Bitches 47: Someone Dangerous Could Get In

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Just got a call from Escrow. Tentative appointment for tomorrow at 10am! They are expecting the papers from my bank first thing in the morning. They need a couple hours to prepare the documents to sign. So. 10am!

You do know you're going to have to sign your name hundreds of times, and at the last minute, they'll find a fee they forgot to tell you about.

But you have to initial on pages 5, 12, and 17. Plus there will likely be a blank page that you still have to sign.

Oh yes! Very much so. Already done that with a kajillion documents. Leaves me to wonder, what else is there to sign. Something tells me, everything I've already signed, they will have me sign again, just so the notary can watch me do it... again. Such a voyeur, that notary!

So, the latest kurffuffle. My Credit Union mortgage dept is based in FL. I'm in CA. Escrow lady says funds need to be wired to escrow to close escrow. But it sounds like FL standard operating mode is to wire funds AFTER all documents are signed. So, she's calling them now. The funds are ready and waiting in my account. And I have authorized my CU to wire them. They are ready and willing. Shouldn't be a problem. But. If I learned anything from all of this. Logic does NOT lead the way in real estate. and if they can make it more difficult, they will!

If they make a TV show out of it, I am SCREWED! They always edit it to make the complications much worse than they really are. My luck, they will cast Puck in the show, just to throw a wrench into the works.

(Puck... the dude from the first "Real World"... anyone? Anyone? guess that just pegged how old I am)

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

I got it, OA, but then I am REALLY old. :)

I remember Puck. And if I'm remembering correctly, he married an old schoolmate of mine. Though I could be confusing reality jerks.

Yeah, I was thinking the other day... working at a university like I do... looking at the kids.. thinking... they probably never owned a TV that didn't come with a remote. Or a B+W tv. Yup. 40 is the new old.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Oh, Simon is adorable. What is it with boys getting the really long, lush, lashes?

Congratulations, o-a.

GC, I remember the saying, but not the context--do I get fifty cents?
