Much, much cancer-ma, err, or cancer-treatment-ma, which is really more to the point, to all the (why so many, Universe?) currently fighting.

Sorry also for the amount of pain going around, I wish you all unclenchy muscles and effective drugs/treatment/muscle manipulation/etc.

Just went to a youth production of West Side Story last night (really well done, and Maria's high notes were AMAZING), and they announced their upcoming productions and one was something like "Zombie Prom". Anybody remember the name of ChiKat's play? I'm thinking that's probably not it, though it would be awesome if she were getting royalties already.

And just for the sake of argument, I emailed the British Theatre's contact to ask about the possibility of DVDs of Frankenstein. I can't access my email from work to quote, but it was pretty much as conjectured here - that they're giving it some thought for many (or all) of their productions, but it would require renegotiating artist contracts, etc., and right now their focus is the cinema-experience thing.

Wow, so many pained buffistas! I had a killer headache on and off for the past three days, an am currently really wishing I had a foam roller nearby, but at least without the headache I'm functional...just slightly grumpy. ;). And I love chiro but hate the crazy ones that think it's the answer to everything. Just no. But I do think I need to go back to the acupuncture.

Add me to the pained Buffista list - I called in sick to work with a horrible migraine. Nothing is out of whack in my back or neck, and I can't think of anything that triggered it. But whoo, this is not fun.

K-Bug has been sick for the last few days and I'm afaid I'm finally catching it. I got a few hours of work done this morning and then was hit by the tired stick. I closed my eyes and was OUT for a couple of hours (thank gosh I work from home).

Now my throat is scratchy, I'm getting congested, and my voice is threatening to go on strike.

I have a hip that is easily fixed by my chiropractor, the world's best, but which goes bad again pretty quickly if I'm not getting enough exercise. These days, I'm not getting enough exercise. She does adjustments and cross-fiber myotherapy (deep-tissue cross-fiber massage). The latter, while not particularly soothing, really works to loosen muscles.

The National Institutes of Health did an extensive study that concluded that chiropractic was more effective than traditional medicine low back pain not caused by something like a slipped disk.

My chiropractor is also a professor at Life College and has done some well-designed double-blind studies. She only believes chiropractic is effective on pain related to the back and neck and is the first to send a patient off to a doctor if she suspects anything beyond that. I'm sorry I can't send her to y'all.

Speaking of pain, I may have decided that I can no longer continue breastfeeding (though I'll still pump). Among other problems (mainly low supply), it still hurts enough to make me cry, nearly two months in. And yes, I have seen multiple lactation consultants and gotten almost more support and advice than I can stand. I feel sad and guilty about making this decision, but I think it's time.
