Just got back from a six-hour first date with Marty Sue. It was all right, no real sparks for me. He's an interesting dude. He has lived in a sailboat, an Airstream, and a fire watch tower (in addition to occasional nights in an igloo). Very peripatetic existance - is taking his retirements in chunks (like Travis McGee, though he'd never heard of the books).
And now I need to nap before going out to meet friends in from out of town. OMG, so don't want to go back out. Phooey.
Naps are good. Meeting friends is good.
Well, at least the marathon date was interesting, if not sparky.
Yeah - we had brunch and coffee, wandered a junk shop, looked at a small photography exhibit, tried to check out another exhibit but it was closed, shared a poboy and onion rings, popped into a perfume shop (I found a perfume I *love* called Absinth that is $164 a bottle, woe) and then walked a bit up and down in my neighborhood.
sounds fun.
too bad about the lack of sparkage.
Nice long drive in the country ended up at an antique store. What a surprise... Spent $$ on old books and a couple framed old maps, and a little stone lion. I am who I am.
And who you are is awesome.
Are there drives in the country that don't end up at antiques stores?

No. Not in my experience.
Some of them could end up at drive-ins. Or Dairy Queens.
