I just never know what to say!
I dare you to cut, copy, paste and fill in the blanks: "I'm a geek; you're a geek. These are my fandoms: ___. These are my other geeky hobbies: ___. These are my areas of geeky technical expertise: ___. You can see all that on my profile, of course, but if that is a resume, this is a cover letter so I thought it would be good to summarize it here. Wanna (IM/talk on the phone/meet in a public place for coffee/etc.)?"
Thanks so much, Steph, that's perfect. I figure there are a bajillion and one resources, so I appreciate your sharing what you've found useful.
Also I might establish my girl-geek cred. by mentioning that I knew about the X-Men before the movies came out, and Doctor Who before Eccleston. So if you have some particularly juicy things that you feel make you a more attractive girl geek, feel free to add them.
Do eeeeeet.
Oh, and thanks for the Paleo rec, too. You'd think I'd have thought of that after recent discussion in Natter, but... I did not.

Paleo is useful for GF people, but if the GF people don't need or want to give up all grains, it's kind of limiting. But you can be sure the recipes don't have gluten in them, so there's that.
I see a lot of GF bloggers moving towards only grain-free baking with almond and/or coconut flour, which is nifty from a "vast sea of ingredients" perspective, but annoying from a "holy crap, almond flour is expensive!" perspective.
I'm oddly jealous of gluten-allergic people. In a totally unrealistic way, of course (munches on breakfast toast). Just, for a while there, I hoped it was to blame for some of my health issues. It would have been really hard for me to stick to, but at least it would have been a diagnosis. But the GF period didn't really make much difference to my symptoms.
I'm so sorry, Karl. I know it's hard, but I would rather go the she did than to have make those decisions or have my family deal with them.
I'm so sorry, Karl. I know what a huge influence she had on your sense of social justice and responsibility. Not everybody can say they brought more good into the world than they took, but it's clear that she did.
I so sorry to hear that Karl. Fuck cancer indeed.
Karl, I'm so sorry.
Windsparrow, I might take your dare! I'll let you know how it comes out.
