Yes! I was a bit bummed that I didn't do any packing last night.. and then realised, hey THAT is packing!

That's the hardest packing, IME!

Nora, way to dump that asshole.

Right?!?!?!

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

omnis, as a thought, could you get some of those furniture glides and have the movers put them under the heavier pieces? Might make rearranging easier in the future.

Oh very much so. And the bulk of my packing now is books. Which is 2nd easiest. CD/DVD's being the easiest, as they are all the same size.

Toddson, I already employ glides. They are a wonderful thing. Looking last night at the cost of flooring. Oy. Might break the bank.

Also, I was thinking of putting the bed on the window wall, because I thought they were two smaller windows. But after yesterday, I realize they are almost that entire wall. And a headboard will block them. I was wanting it on that wall, so when visitors came over, they would see a clear path towards porch, and not bed in way. Hmm.

I'm feeling very old all of the sudden.

Those silicon glides are a great invention. I'm glad I stuck some on the bottoms of my file cabinets.

This [link] color combination would be easy to live with. Maybe light blue in the bedroom and a shade of brown in the living room?

That is my fav so far too. Although, the brown in the living room might be too dark. The windows are on the NE side of the building, so, not a lot of direct light in that area.

Decided to go to the bank, instead of calling and waiting for a return call. Very happy I did. On the way there, she was calling me, worried that the time frame is too short, given we still don't have documents from the HOA. And without those documents, she can't authorize the appraisal, and without the appraisal, the loan can't be approved. I told her I was on my way to drop off documents. We chatted for well over an hour. Going over everything I had (and she didn't need that bank statement I searched high and low for ... @@) And was very pleased that I had everything in*. So we called escrow to see what the progress was. It's 7-10 days turnaround for the documents requested. We could put a rush order on it, and it would be one day faster, for $150. We both felt that was stupid. They have a website to download the documents (that I mentioned earlier), but a) not all the docs the bank needs is listed, and b) it takes 7-10 days for them to email them to you. Really? For the love of... So. To expedite things, she suggested, if *I* authorize the appraisal, knowing, that if the documents from the HOA do not meet credit union needs, the loan would not be approved, and the appraisal would be worthless, but I'd still have to pay for it, knowing all that, if I request it now, then they can get the ball rolling on the appraisal and then the loan approval, contingent on HOA documents are good.

Oh my. Stupid short sale bank DEMANDING a fast closing date after waiting 3 months! Grr. The good news is, she says all is good on my end. With the exception of the * listed above. I pulled my tax returns for the past two years, they only want the W-2's for the past 2 years. So, I gotta find those. But I am 95% sure I know exactly where they are. So I gotta scan them, and fax them over to her. But, she says those will not slow us down, and not needed just yet, it's just to verify everything else, so no need to rush to get it.

Whew. Maybe now my jaw wiill relax?

(sorry for the run on sentences... kinda vent/stream of thought post there)

My closings have always seemed like they were on the other side of the looking glass.

omnis, I was thinking of a much lighter variation of the brown on the walls, more chocolate milk than chocolate. Another option would be to just do one wall with the brown.

I was actually thinking the darker color for the wall opposite the windows in the bedroom, so the room isn't BRIGHT, but just bright (if that makes sense in typing. So much easier with vocal inflection). That room will get a TON of sun. No shade near by, and no awnings.

omnis, while I understand your impulse here, you may want to consider heat gain. Sun beating on a dark wall? Heat gain. It may make that room unpleasantly warm and affect your power bill.

In fact even without the darker colors you may want to do something about that. That room will probably be unpleasantly warm in the summer (and even on some sunny days in other seasons, worse with dark colors.) Can you get the windows tinted? Put up canopies? Something?

I'm sitting on my porch, watching the rain, drinking wine and fake smoking. And listening to bitter chick music. I heard from StW and I'm back to being upset and angry, at myself and at him. I emailed him back and said pretty much all the stuff I'd been wanting to say for a year. I may regret it later, but I don't think I will. It needed saying.
