'Lies My Parents Told Me'

Spike's Bitches 47: Someone Dangerous Could Get In

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

For color inspiration, I'm going to once again pimp Design Seeds - [link]. See what colors appeal to you.
Oh my! Love this sight!

Not the pink, but the others: [link]

This might blend in nice with the great view, especially in the bedroom: [link]

This is nice. Muted. Maybe a bit too subdued: [link]

Might be a bit too saturated. But love the picture... it might be the moon: [link]

COLORS! but not too vibrant. Too much purple, but that might be a nice accent color: [link]

And that gets me through page 14 of 267 or something. Love that sight! {{{SMONSTER!!!}}}

As for flooring. Carpet is going. The more I think about it, the less I like it. Area rug + floor = fine! Now, to decide what type of flooring. Cork looks cool, absorbs sound, but apparently not good with sunlight or heavy furniture. Not that I have heavy furniture, but when I rearrange, I drag, not lift. I'm leaning towards bamboo. It's more durable than hardwood floors, fast growth, they don't need to clear-cut, just wack the grass above the roots, and it grows back! But, the import from China adds to the carbon footprint. But if the price is good, it's leading the charge.

Also, aside from kitchen fluorescent tubes, and the, um, interesting chandelier in the dining, there is no overhead lighting. Gotta think about that too. I'm thinking, maybe wait a year on that, see if the place needs fans. If it does, then that's the answer. But, being on the windward side of the hill, it will get plenty of air.

I do not want to admit I am old enough to date 40 year olds, even though I know I am. On okcupid I've lately been searching 27-42. But 27 has started seeming very young. (I'm 34. When I'd that happen????)

Oops. Killed the thread. Oops.

But hey, after completing onerous task of filing that has been covering my living room floor, while trying to find bank statement from 2 months ago, only to find it in the office next to the computer. But hey, I found it!!!

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

An apartment-mate from grad school gathered a bunch of us together for his 42nd birthday dinner last night. I saw several people who I hadn't seen for about a decade. I came home feeling old and fat. Which is odd, because hanging out with my current friends, who are roughly in the same age range, doesn't have that effect on me.

Our wings are not tired.

I am 11 years older than DH and my mom is 15 years older than step-dad. It is only one element in compatibility. There are differences in upbringing. I lived in the same house 18 years; DH was Air Force raised with the move every 3-4 years. Mom grew up in the city; step-dad on a farm. Age, upbringing, ethnic backgrounds, there are lots of things that can make individuals have different perspectives and affect compatibility. I still have no clue why it is that some people just connect and some don't. Big ole mystery of life.

In the extraordinarily unlikely event that I ever date again I think I would probably be pretty open to a wide range of profiles.

Also, you have filed, which is key for packing.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

Nora, way to dump that asshole.

omnis, glad you like the site! I think it's a good way to see what colors you tend to respond to and what goes well together.

Dear lord, it is so hot and humid that I feel like I'm sweating out water faster than I can drink. I'm going through several liters of water a day plus a liter of Gatorade. And yes, I know to balance salt intake and all that. I'm pretty hardcore about hydration. Gonna be a long, hot summer. Woo.
