I went on a date tonight! With my husband of course. We saw the LA Phil. It was casual Friday, so no tuxes on stage. Go figure! And then decided to make mojitos at home, what with my Appletons rum and homemade lime cordial and all, and they were delicious. Mmm! We may need to plan an LAista cocktail night this summer, but it will need to be at a house that doesn't look like a trash dump. Hmmmm.

Lordy, I have a hangover and my eyes are all puffy. Last night was a needed catharsis, I think. I feel calmer and more ready to hang with friends. Now to eat breakfast and do a quick crisis clean.

Fuuuuck, I'm out of half and half for my coffee. My plan was to go get some coffee on the way to the airport, but I wants some nao. Oh well, I will survive. I will survive. As long as I know how to love, I know I'll stay alive.

ION, I just got back from the farmers market where I acquired, among other things (whole Muscovey duck, local trout fillets, corn on the cob) a dozen tiny quail eggs. Trying to work out the best way to cook 'em up.

YouTube tutorial on how to curl your hair with a sock. You cut the toe off of a sock, roll it up into a donut shape, pull your hair into a high ponytail, mist it with water, and then pull the ponytail through the sock and roll your hair into it. Then go to sleep. Supposedly in the morning, when you take your hair out of the sock bun, you'll have curls.

I have not taken my hair out of the sock bun yet, so I don't know the results. But it sounds pretty similar to rag curling, so I assume it would work.
