Spike's Bitches 47: Someone Dangerous Could Get In

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

Um, I think a nice, elegant paper hand-fan is the most appropriate accessory here.

I'm still voting yellow, but I won't ding your patriotism.

Here we go [link] Just change out the ribbon. Artificial cherries would be good or a red silk flower.

You don't have to actually wear the gloves. Just hold them in one hand like you're going to put them back on.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

A hat creates your own shade, and straw hats don't really add much heat. Signed, got a broad-brimmed goofy hat to wear at work because the farmer tan on my neck, despite sunscreen, is RIDICULOUS. Just ask Nora or Vortex. Also, damn, I really want that straw cloche. Cloches look good on me with the short hair.

Back home, gotta eat. And focus!!! And kick some productivity ass.

I wanna see smonster in a cloche! Nora take pictures.

I have a black wool cloche that I got at Forever 21 of all places, but sadly did not wear it at all during The Winter That Wasn't. I bet I'd get a lot more wear out of a straw one, and bonus! Not a fedora (the official headgear of Jazz Fest. not really. but yeah).

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Cloche!

I'm getting a pretty solid farmer's tan, too, but my hair is long at the moment, so the back of my neck is okay so far. But I really need to cut it.

The thing is, I think I like long hair, but the reality of growing it out and then discovering I don't actually know any ways to put it up or back that don't look like I'm 12, is too compelling and I always whack it off again. It's a cycle. It just takes long enough having it short for me to forget this.

So! Bird news! Phoebe chick spent a few days sitting on the deck, with mom & dad feeding her. Then yesterday the SO saw her fly properly. Today she was perched on the back of our deck chairs, and it's amazing how much of her down she's lost already. Her tail feathers are complete. She basically looks just like an adult phoebe except for the fuzzy down, and her beak is still a little duck beak, although it's becoming more slender already. I won't recognize her soon.

Anyway, the SO is having his first day back at work, so we walked him out the deck and down the ramp, which means past where she was sitting. So today I got to see her fly properly, and she did great! It's super windy out, but she still swooped and flew over to the shed.

Liese, how is your DH doing? And glad to hear the phoebe news.

Have a random inspirational music video! I love Beth Ditto. [link]

I haven't done anything yet. Someone! Motivate me! I just want to nap. And read.

Jon B. shared this on FB, so I'm sharing it with Bev and others here.

A Tim Burton inspired Cake-Zoetrope. It's very cool.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

He is feeling better. His appointment with the orthopedist isn't until June 4th, so we kinda won't know anything more until then. He's teaching from 10 - 6 today, and wouldn't let me drive him in. Which I was worried about, but I guess I'm overprotective.

It's a lot for his first day out, but he was restless at home, so it's probably a good thing. I'm tired, so I may just nap today.

It's weird because we finished up the school year with such a whimper, I really don't feel like we transitioned at all. And I have simultaneously too much to do and not enough, so I am reacting like I always do, by retreating. But yeah, nap. And read. (not helping, I know) Both sound pretty damn good.
