It's good to have cargo. Makes us a target for every other scavenger out there, though, but sometimes that's fun too.

Spike's Bitches 47: Someone Dangerous Could Get In

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

All right, smonster!!

LIESE, if you are around, I have a question. I'm editing a short story, and the protag is Native American and he makes a comment, "I don't even know what reserve he [other character] was from."

Now, I've heard "rez" but is "reserve" common slang for reservation among any of the NA populations you've encountered?

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Is he Canadian? I've heard reserve used very rarely, but only in slightly odd contexts, like British talking about Americans, or maaaybe northern territories tribes, although they're more likely to say First Nations stuff.

Also, even 'rez' is careful slang. That is to say, you kinda have to earn the right to say it.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

I was going to say, that sounds like Canadian usage to me.

And it is indeed Canadian; just came across ref to Tim Hortons.

The protags of the story are Native, and using the term. When it's not being used by a Native, it clearly couched as a perjorative.

Thanks, all!

Now! Must get haircut! I am multifaceted, yo.

Not so nice is that I'm about to ruin a Friday morning for a bunch of people because of a series of unfortunate events and an upset foreign government. - shrift

Okay, yup, that's fine then, Erin.

I second the Jockey vote, but I also only buy them at Jockey outlets in outlet malls, because I am cheap.
