It is a good thing you found this out, though omnis. A coworker was precertified, SOLD HER HOUSE, and then made the offer on the house she wanted. And then she, her mentally challenged brother, her niece and her niece's baby all had to move in with a friend while she is looking for another house.
Spike's Bitches 47: Someone Dangerous Could Get In
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
wrod. Signed "knows too much about house paperwork, cause my mom used to do that at work." She can't explain how a reverse mortgage works so I'd say "Don't do it, old people! Resist the Fonz!"
Yeah, not giving notice on the apartment until the papers are signed. That gives 30 days to pack the old place, paint the new place and move in. It will cost a bit more (one month of mortgage AND rent), but so worth the headaches/stress.
And then Nora said it exactly right. You are not your siblings' keeper. Just keep doing what you personally can for your dad.
Yeah. I gotta keep reminding myself of that. Thanks everyone. It's just so damn frustrating. But, health issues and deaths bring out the true colors in people, right? I dunno. Maybe it's because he wasn't the best of fathers growing up?? I dunno. I just gotta stop thinking about it. Do what I do, be who I am. And move on.
Now. How do I get my dad to make a will? Oy. He hates to even think about it. And now that he's got cancer, who knows. I'm afraid to suggest it, for fear it will be like saying "it's not going to work, so write it all down". But it would be great to have that living will stuff too. To DNR or not? Burial? Ashes? Where to bury or spread ashes? Stupid shit like that.
Well, my day just kind of went to shit. Thanks, rainstorm. My coworker covered the window but rain is still getting in at the top and he stole a screw out of a piece I'd milled to do so, which I didn't notice until I'd installed it with glue, and a nail, and a screw. So I had to take it back out, and he glue was getting wet anyway. I really don't want to go out in the rain on a metal ladder to put more screws in, so I'm taking a break and hoping the rain passes. Which it seems to be doing.
These are my travails.
In I actually accomplished something today news. I have successfully sorted all of my clothes into my new closet and made three bags of clothes to send off the the consignment store, three bags to bring to the consignment store in the fall (they won't take cold weather clothes now), and two bags of clothes for charity. With Mom's help of course. I've been feeling sort of useless this week, but getting stuff done is good, even if I need help with it.

We bought our house at the end of March and the first month's mortgage payment wasn't due until May 1st fwiw.
Crazy, sj! I am also cleaning my disaster of a closet (one of my rods fell down, and I...left it for a looong time) and am in the midst of washing ALL THE CLOTHES. (Except the basket in my bedroom, but that will just have to wait till tomorrow.)
I am officially out of my funk. I am am cleaning the office and organizing things today, and then tomorrow is Work on Writey Work Day.
In I actually accomplished something today newsHa, I'm realizing, I am not really accomplishing anything today. Brain just not on work. Stupid stuff, sure, but nothing of consequence. Glad to see someone is !

Good for you! If my size wasn't changing constantly, I would have far fewer clothes to get rid of. Some of it was very hard to let go of.
Speaking of which, can someone poke me to join the gym next week? My shoulder is feeling better, and I really need to get some exercise to cut down on my pain levels.

I'm due. Trust me.

FWIW, the first mortgage payment usually doesn't kick in until the second month.
