I like Maconbeast. It is better than my actual last name. Maybe I would change my name in marriage(ha, ha, like that'll happen) if I get to be Ms. Maconbeast
'Smile Time'
Spike's Bitches 47: Someone Dangerous Could Get In
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
My semester is over! Well, I'll probably still have another day or two of students emailing me asking for higher grades, but everything that I'm actually supposed to do is done! And those student emails are a pain, but I'm just supposed to respond to them with something like, "These were your grades during the semester. Based on the guidelines in the syllabus, your grade is ___," so it just takes a few minutes.
Glad to hear you are feeling better, Erin!
Maconbeast is an AWESOME last name. Someone should use it in Justified fic. Or maybe I will, the next time I need an online pseudonym. Juniper Maconbeast, has a kind of poetry to it.
I did not go to work today. I did get up at 8:30, fed the animals, and have been running errands for a couple of hours. Back at home to eat lunch, and then more errands. I hope I can get a nap in at some point.
I'm blaming my red wine hangover on the NOPD, their delay and shenanigans. ISTG it was ridonk, way to conform to stereotypes. Two phone calls and 3.5 hrs to show, officer didn't even get out of the g-d car, told the girl's aunt to step away from the car when she didn't do anything, said a bunch of contradicting shit like "you waited too long" and that you you have to call the police to set the 24-hr clock running before you can call back and file a missing person's report. Another hour to get the ranking officer on the scene (who thankfully is an acquaintance of the family), get him up to date and get his officer in line, and another half hour to file the g-d report.
And when he finally left, the mom was left with a piece of paper and no clear instructions on what to do next.
As a friend of the family and the police said, "Imagine how they treat people they *don't* like. "
I am so behind in here, so I hope I get everyone in:
{{Erin}} I'm glad the past few days have improved your outlook. A support network is a wonderful thing. Still sending ~ma, though, as a deficit takes a while to refill.
{{Ginger}} Much, much~ma to you, you amazing, witty, generous person. I do wish you were closer to some of us, so we could do more for you.
{{Nora}} Doggie~ma. May he find his owners or be found by someone who can get him into a safe space.
{{smonster and smonster's friend}} Fast return to the fold~ma for the daughter.
{{sumi}} Hoping the something is easily dealt with.
{{Laura}} Fast foot recovery! Also, glad to hear Brendan and all are fine; sorry about the car, though.
{{MFNlaw}} More car~ma.
I think that's everyone, work has been eating me from the bottom lately and I haven't had time to check in every day the way I like to. It just seems like the universe is being particularly perverse lately. I think this one needs to be returned to the bullpen and for an alternate to be sent in.
um ... marching through Georgia? (no, not THAT Georgia)
Sweet fancy fucking Moses. There was just a shooting at the park while I was two blocks away walking Frankie. Word is kid is alive, shot multiple times in the legs. I just don't even know.
:: tries to smoosh kevlar through intertubes to Smonster ::
Yikes, smonster! I'm glad you're ok.
"Murder...the only thing America's still good at." (Although I'm glad nobody's dead. So, not in this case.)
According to my neighbor M, a lot of the shootings are not even drug-related these days, just "beefs." Like, "you looked at my girlfriend, you disrespected me," that kind of shit. I just don't even know.
Things I need to do: put together my mom's b-day/mother day package and mail it, go pass out flyers about my friend's daughter.
Things I want to do: sleep, watch Thor.
