I have a big headache from dealing with ridiculousness at new workplace. First they didn't load my computer with all the programs I needed. Then they created the wrong username and password for me so I couldn't access the training or (more importantly) benefits sign-up pages. Then it took 4 hours to add my printer to my computer (by IT!), now I got a username and password for the system I'll use most...and it, too, doesn't work and IT doesn't know why. Add in a bunch of totally outdated training (and outdated procedures/policies that show up if you search for something on the corporate intranet) and I want to be like "PLEASE. STOP. Junk everything, buy more up to date systems, and for the love of god, take shit down or update it!"

Spike's Bitches 47: Someone Dangerous Could Get In
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
My students have a midterm tomorrow, and they're all freaking out. I really wish there was a bit more time for the material on this exam -- there are quite a few who don't really get it yet but I think could get it with another week or so to work on it. But, anyway, what that meant for me today was five straight hours of, at any given moment, at least three people asking me, "How do I do this problem?" I had to take a little while after my classes were done to just sit and refocus my brain so that I wasn't still trying to do five things at once.

Gee, meara, I didn't know you worked at my office!
Hil, I think that you use a TENS unit, there's one for sale today for $20 in a Woot deal (http://www.woot.com/)
And if someone wants to buy one for non pain relief, I'm not judging.

Whoa. Mine cost two years of arguing with the insurance company, plus about $100 out of pocket.
Hmm. Getting a $20 one, even if it doesn't have all the features that my regular one has, might be good for traveling. I'm always afraid that it'll get confiscated when I take it on an airplane. (I know better than to actually use it on an airplane -- getting on an airplane connected to a battery pack and wires is a bad plan -- but it's caused a few tense moments at security when it's in my carryon.)
Looking at the comments, it looks like there's some hinkiness (technical term) about exactly what the unit is and does.
sj,
apparently, there is some solid research about self-hypnosis as a way to deal with pain of childbirth. I understand it can be very effective.

Oooh! Yoink!
I've been wanting to get one for my back and hip (no, seriously). And it will probably be put to other uses as well.
Wait, there's other things you can do with a tens unit? I can't imagine letting that kind of electrical current near sensitive bits...but i'm also not very kinky. $100 copay for me with insurance!
