Thanks for the reviews. I'm going to give them a try next month. I was afraid that it would be a slippery mess and I'd end up dropping the thing right into the toilet.

Spike's Bitches 47: Someone Dangerous Could Get In
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Great. I just noticed bumps on the tip of Frankie's penis, so it's off to the vet! Can't quite shake the FML feeling right now.
edit - got some ABs, hopefully it's NBD. And got in and out including meds for $33. I LOVE MY VET.
smonster, I'd love your vet, too. I never get out of my vet's office for anything under $100.
le_n, I'm glad you figured out what was causing the nosebleeds! But, how bizarre.
So, I applied for a new position on campus today. I'm not 100% sure it's the best match for me, but it would get me out of a position that is semi-toxic to me. It would be a lateral transfer, so there's no guarantee of more money and if they can't offer it, I'm not taking it. Still, I wouldn't mind a little "get a response to my resume and cover letter"~ma if youse gots it.

So. Trigger warning for anyone who has eating issues, especially those created and/or reinforced by family. Excerpts from a Vogue article by a mom who put her 7 yo daughter on a diet. [link] Somewhere, Geneen Roth just had a rage blackout and doesn't even know why. Parenting for a healthy child - UR DOIN IT WRONG.
dear god ... that's ... words fail me
my mother put me on a diet when i was, i think, 12. basically, iceberg lettuce, cottage cheese, not a lot else. took years before i was able to even think of cottage cheese.
My lovely husband is back from a LONG week away. I have two hours until I get off work and can go home and actually see him and it is making me antsy. We are going to see Rock of Ages tonight and revel in the cheesiness. Sadly, I am sure I will know every word of every lame song in the show.
In a coincidence of when discount tickets were available, we are going to see American Idiot on Sunday, so it is a weekend of rock musicals.
That Vogue article just gutted me. Poor little Bea.
I just found out there's a "Career Expo" on Thursday, I guess it's like a job fair. Part of it is geared towards high school students, but the afternoon will be open to the public and adults.
I've never been to a job fair before, so any advice what I should wear/take or what to expect. Take besides copies of my resume I mean.
I just bought "The Inspired Vegan" by Bryant Terry. Just like his other cookbook, this one suggests a song to go with each recipe, and also either a book or a movie. I wonder how he decides which songs go with which foods. Some of them make sense, like "Salt Peanuts" by the Pointer Sisters goes with a recipe for paprika peanuts. Savory Grits with Sauteed Broad Beans, Roasted Fennel, and Thyme gets "Walkin Blues" by Robert Johnson, and Wilted Dandelion Greens with Hot Garlic Dressing and Garlic Chips is "Bessemer Bound Blues" by Ma Rainey.
Hmm. That dandelion green recipe looks really good. I wonder if/when the farmers markets around here will have dandelion greens.
