I'm sorry, Anne. May you achieve renewing rest, alternating between bliss filled dreams and deep sound renewing sleep.
So very sad, askye. What a nightmare.

What is "the soft kind" of butter? At which point does it start being butter product?
Anne, I'm sorry to hear you had that stress. I hope as little Ambien as possible does work for you. I find it remarkably unpredictable, and I take it regularly. Sometimes it touches me not, sometimes it knocks me out. It doesn't seem to be usefully tied to my state of mind.
Your worry is the worst thing. Anything you can do to reduce your heart rate and get the tension you're holding out of your muscles, etc, will help as much as 5mg of Ambien sometimes.
Soft butter is just butter that has been whipped enough so that there is enough air in it is fairly soft. Not always a difference between whipped and soft, but soft butter is often not quite as throughly whipped as what is normally sold as whipped butter.
I have a suspicion I don't like this soft butter thing.
More for me.
I leave butter on the counter as well.
Anne, I recommend a hot bath or shower and 10mgs of Ambien and a book of well-read short stories in bed. Turn out the light immediately upon feeling sleepy. If, after 45 minutes, you can't fall asleep, try another 5 mgs.
I try very hard not to eat after dinner, as to take my nightly sleep meds on an empty stomach to maximize their effectiveness on me. Anything to boost the efficacy.
I leave butter on the counter as well.
Moi aussi.
I've been having, um, digestive issues all day. Not sure why. Might be the bacon I ate that was a month past its expiration date.
But never mind accidental poisonings! I've lost six pounds, and that reading was taken before the um issues. So it's all good; I survived and am getting smaller.
My butter is on the counter. Nice, room temperature unsalted butter. It is of the nom.

This is one of the cool things I can do when I am up north for the summer. It takes a week or so for me to remember. Here it would be a bowl of butter soup even with A/C. The other super awesome thing I always forget is that water gets colder when you let it run. (just remembered that again in Chicago)
Condiments, well we be on the spicy side here. Several varieties of mustards and horseradishes. Plain ole mayo and a wide variety of hot sauces. No miracle whip.
