[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Occasionally I’m callous and strange

mayo=projectile vomiting for me. I never trust sandwiches on a platter unless i can talk to the person who provided them (but i wouldn't dream of touching them to find out! You only touch what you are going to eat, gosh darn it)

The new commercials for miracle whip make me giggle. I'm still going to buy any cuz, ew, creamy sandwich spreads make me fear for my internal safety. But the scarlet letter one is hilarious.

How did i forget that oxy makes me itchy? Like, scratching a different place every 2 minutes? So not restful. *sigh* Have routine appt w/ gp today, perhaps she can reassure me that my hip is just bruising/swelling cuz i was lying in bed, sleepless, scratching, thinking bad thoughts about my pelvis.

I also am pro-Miracle Whip OR mayo. I grew up on MW. Doesn't ping me.

But I prefer a spicy mustard on my sandwiches. Although I also am quite fond of adding TJ's wasabi mayo to sandwiches lately.

Love mayo as a mixer (whatever that word is supposed to be) and on my sandwiches. And on french fries... don't judge. Do not like MW on anything.

I've been adding creamed horseradish on things I like with mustard. Dijon mustard and horseradish have been really good on: sausages, roast beef, corned beef.

ION, here is one of the virtues of growing older: Knowing your own flaws and weaknesses and compensating.

To wit, I'm wearing a black t-shirt today with a white button down shirt over it. As I turned my leftover coffee into a mocha, I thought, "You know, you really should unbutton the white shirt just in case."

Sure enough I just spilled mocha on myself, but only on my black t-shirt.

Belgian style! That's how JZ likes it. Usually I add curry because curried mayo is even better.

Butter is good on sandwiches. And if you use the soft kind or soften it but don't actually melt it in the microwave you don't need much. Salt butter, not sweet is my sandwich preference.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

There was a Belgian-style restaurant in Philly that did an awesome bourbon mayo with their fries. That was so damn good.

Ah, they have a website: [link]

I have horseradish mustard, dijon mustard, plain mustard, stone-ground spicy mustard, wasabi mayo and Hellman's mayo in the fridge right now.

I like me some condiment variety.

My Desert Island Condiment (if I could only have one in perpetuity) would definitely be Dijon Mustard. Because it's good for cooking too. Such a strong complex flavor - good for salad dressing, good for stir fry, good to a stir fork-ful into Mac N'Cheese even.

(My Desert Island has a fully stocked, solar powered kitchen. But only Dijon Mustard among the condiments.)

Thrive to spite them

Well fuck cancer again. A former coworker's son died yesterday, he was 8 years old and leukemia. He was diagnosed last year, had a bone marrow transplant and it still came back and it came back with a vengeance. I think they found out a month ago it was back. Some very wonderful people managed to get him a Wish through Make a Wish, it happened on the 15th.
