Because books.

I need help already!

I'm editing a manuscript -- .docx in whatever the newest Word is -- and my insertions aren't showing up in a new color. They should be, though, shouldn't they? And I deleted something and it just disappeared like usual, instead of showing it.

I know I have Track Changes on, though -- I added a comment already, and it's there on the side.

Help? (I miss my red pencil and a hard copy manuscript so very, very much.)

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

In honor of the birth of the Buffista business thread, I am sitting in the bank waiting room trying to resolve the issue of my missing replacement business debit card following last month`s fraud. Yay business ownership. This is the sort of thing I`m supposed to have people for. Where are my people?

I also feel I should confess that I was the lone vote against the thread but only on general principles. And in delicious irony, I then linked my business in the links page and rushed over here to post. So apparently I`ll use it!

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

Amy -- That seems like a Tech thread question.

Because books.

We have a lot of editors in here, so I thought this would be easier and quicker, Jon.

That makes sense to me.

Amy, I just opened a new Word doc and tested it - my changes show up fine. I didn't immediately see anything in a Settings section that looked like it would change the rev marks.

comments and track changes are different--you can add comments even without track changes on, so double check you have it on?

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

I just did that too, Amy. For some reason, I had to click Tools/Track Changes twice before the tracking toolbar showed up.

Because books.

Let me check again. Thanks, people!

Our wings are not tired.

Apparently I am being productive.

Still being stubborn about updating my Word version. I just convert all those docx things I get. I dislike learning new menu systems.

Love the title.

Punishingly Intricate

Still being stubborn about updating my Word version.

If you can avoid it, don't update. The new version is total irritating ass. I have a 3rd party add-on that has the old menus and that helps somewhat but there are some things you used to be able to do that just aren't available any more and everything else takes much longer to do. It is absolutely infuriating.
