Tinted lenses clear migraine pain

By normalizing activity in the brain’s visual cortex, precision-tinted lenses are able to ease the often debilitating pain experienced by migraine sufferers.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I want cool coloured glasses!

Right. I also have to buy CO2, buy bras, buy comics, and cut my hair. Why, weekend, why?

I just took my cat to the vet for a checkup and rabies shot yesterday, and it ended up nearly wiping out my bank account. I've got just enough to get me to payday next Friday, but WTF. And, they wanted to me get bloodwork and urinalyisis that would have doubled my bill to over $400!! And this is for a healthy cat.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

Shrift, did you have a timing chip?

Clearly, we should have a Buffista 5K day. I want to get back into them. Today, I shall jog the dog!

(Yes, you can train your greyhound to jog with you. Take it slow, gradually increase the distance.)

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Oh man. I have vet appointments in my near future. Not looking forward to that.

Actually, I have kind of a conundrum. The vet I've taken Darby to before is nearby and I like them well enough. But from dog park talk they are widely considered to be way expensive.

The other day, Darby's rescue group posted this on FB:

Adopt a dog recently? Looking for a new vet? PLEASE check out Animal Care Center of Chicago in the west loop!!! PRC takes almost all our rescue dogs here for their routine and specialized medical care and have always, yes always, had a great experience. All the vets are awesome, the techs are super attentive and the front desk people are friendly, helpful and amazing! PRC LOVES ACCC!

So, awesome right? Except that when I check out their website I see this:

COSMETIC SURGERY: Animal Care Center of Chicago can perform cosmetic ear-cropping for all breeds.

And it's really, really bugging me. I'm having real trouble getting past the "we love and care for animals and provide all kinds of care! Plus also, we'll perform unnecessary mutilations for no good reason!"

Ugh. I need to get past this. At least they don't mention tail docking.

Yikes Kathy!

I just made an appointment for Clio to see why she's chewing the hair off her hind paws. I want to find out if it's some kind of parasite. I don't know how much that will set me back. I'd rather it be a parasite than stress or an allergy, because those might take a long time to find/heal.

Because books.

I'm totally up for a virtual 5K.

You all just reminded me both cats need to be taken in for shots.

The main reason I took Amarna in was because she was overdue for her rabies shot. That's what cost the most--$94 for a three year shot. At least it's done until 2014.
