You never know if a girl's gonna say 'yes', or if she's gonna laugh in your face and pull out your still-beating heart and crush it into the ground with her heel.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Oh, Sparky, you know Sass is in our hearts too. Don't apologize for talking about her. We care about you, and the search for Sass is what's going on in your life right now.

Also, you'll rock this interview.

"already on the kiss-cam with Karl Marx"-

I'd be a mess if I lost my dog. my brother finds lost dogs all the time and has reunited 3 or 4 with their people. I hope somebody like him has Sass too. He was all set to keep one after 6 weeks, but finally his people checked in somehow and got Bullseye home.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

I still have my fingers crossed for Sass

Me too.

My mom called, the parents are fine and they have power. They were out seeing a matinee at the dinner theatre. They had no idea that they were just blocks away from where the initial touchdown was. Oy.

Oh, and I finally have confirmation that all the extended family in SW Mo and NW AR are fine.

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

aurelia, that is great news.

As for me, I had a scary-ass commute and we've got another 30 minutes before the all-clear (they keep pushing it back, though), but so far so good.

The radar did look like things were getting ugly again as the system reached the east side of the state. Stay safe.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Glad that people are checking in safe.

I hope the exposure finds Sass.

I broke and put the small room ac in. Just as an option.

I met one of my pool buddies...outside the pool! It's funny, after 2 years we're just getting around to exchanging names. So now I know pink cap, blue suit, now pregnant lady is Emily, and she knows where I live!

And in stupid news, I got into work at 7:35 to discover the whole system borked. There was a bug that only rears its head when the system is stupid fast on linux. Which it is, for now. Until it grinds to a halt. That ate my morning.

And then I discovered a metric we'd been computing for ages has a major bug, so who knows how long we were getting misleading results. And I have to replace the tool anyway. Which, doable, but man, a lot of work has to be done to fix the historical data. Luckily, I think I can foist that off on my minion. Except she's out today and tomorrow, so I'm also doing her job. Which I do not have time for, but I have to make it.

And I ate too much pizza provided for us in celebration of the transition (too much for me > half a slice, I had 2.5) and so I'm skipping dinner and feel vaguely ooky. I've been up since 5:15. I didn't escape work until 4:15 and that was sheer fuckitall. I easily could've been there until past 6.
