"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

I finally heard back from the people I know in Joplin. Some homes lost, some glass cuts, but otherwise not as bad as it could have been. I know of a few deaths of friends of friends, but not people I know directly. One friend of a friend was lucky; the theater he was in was destroyed, and people on both sides of him were killed, but he survived with only minor injuries.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Wow, that is all so terrible.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Thunderstorms forecast here for today and much of the week. We'll see when/if we get them. Obviously what's happening in MO is so much more serious than anything we've had.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

Yikes, msbelle. She sounds rather unreasonable.

Liese, how awful for the guy in the theater.

Stay safe, Hil and sarameg! I am not loving these tornadoes. It seems really early in the season and they are popping up in some odd places.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

I'm looking at photos of the damage in MO and I cannot get over the fact that the city looks like a bomb hit it. Houses look like piles of sticks. Damn.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Yeah, he was pretty freaked. He said he put a sheet over one body. But physically he`s fine, which in some ways is worse.

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

It's really awful, y'all. Most of the town is destroyed. A cousin from the other side of the fam is posting to FB; she's stuck there, can't get a phone signal, utterly horrible.

Hey Steph - what part of Cincinnati do you work in?

information libertarian

Not Steph, but I'm pretty sure her office is near Kenwood Mall. Signed, still full of Cincinnati facts 12 years after moving away.
