"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Ruh-roh. Our friend just posted a picture of a dog up for adoption that looks just like Seabiscuit, and the SO has already fallen for her! We'd been talking about adding a 2nd dog to the household, and I think he doesn't want to be without a dog in the eventual time that the Biscuit goes. I was just thinking about how I used to have a life without dog hair all over everything, one where I could type without a cold nose right under my wrist.

But you know, it's been a pretty good trade-off overall. But are we ready for another dog? And she's in Kansas! We wouldn't even be able to get there until August, so our friend would have to keep her until then. I dunno if this is to be.

She sure is a cutie, though.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

And anyway, the current dog is lying on top of my typing hand now, so I guess that's my cue to get away from the keyboard for a bit.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

It's still raining here. I just drove by the creek a few blocks away, and it looks like it's maybe an inch short of flooding.

I just bought a tomato plant and a pot and potting soil. I think I'll wait for it to stop raining before I put it all together, though -- I think it's too heavy for me to put the soil in the pot indoors and then carry the whole thing outside.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

I'm glad that the botox 8-year-old was a hoax, but I'm hoping that GMA gets its $10K back.

I'd just got into the shower when they closed the pool. Sigh. Hopefully it opens up by 6.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I'm hoping that GMA gets its $10K back.

To use on fact-checkers?

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Bleah. Feeling kinda groggy all day. I guess the Nyquil wasn't such a great idea after all.

Coding and Sleeping

I got my first job offer! ...and I turned it down. Too much travel. I've interviewed with a place I like today, three interviews with three different groups. I'm interviewing for a place I really like the sound of tomorrow. Monday I have an interview with my current first choice. And Tuesday I have an interview that sounds great aside from the commute. It's in Lawrence, KS so I wouldn't mind moving there in the future though. Nice town.

Job~ma would be appreciated. I'd line one of these to pan out.

Jobma your way! I think it sounds like you're doing just great.

Lawrence is nice.

Wasn't that town blown away in The Day After?
