I'm afraid I dislike almost everything about that library. I don't want to feel like I'm outside or in a post-modern bus station in a reading room. I want to feel like I'm in a library. Also, I hate the idea of not being able to wander the stacks.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

We just got an email informing us that our office park will get its very first food truck today.

I am probably more excited by this than I should be.

Dude! I do not understand why I cannot get a food truck in downtown Oakland. ::sigh::

Instead, it's back to the soup place for me.

That is odd.

This is the Louisiana Food truck--it would be better if it were grilled cheese, but I'll be happy with a po boy.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

It's raining again! I woke up this morning to about three inches of snow in the backyard (north-facing) and was promised more today. And indeed, here it is!

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

Man, back in the day people must have had really unhappy asses.

Of course, there are still many places in the world with outhouses and unhappy asses. Some in Moldova use leaves or books, though there is "toilet paper" available. We PCVs called it "buff loofah" and stocked up on baby wipes.

Ruh-roh. Our friend just posted a picture of a dog up for adoption that looks just like Seabiscuit, and the SO has already fallen for her! We'd been talking about adding a 2nd dog to the household, and I think he doesn't want to be without a dog in the eventual time that the Biscuit goes. I was just thinking about how I used to have a life without dog hair all over everything, one where I could type without a cold nose right under my wrist.

But you know, it's been a pretty good trade-off overall. But are we ready for another dog? And she's in Kansas! We wouldn't even be able to get there until August, so our friend would have to keep her until then. I dunno if this is to be.

She sure is a cutie, though.

And anyway, the current dog is lying on top of my typing hand now, so I guess that's my cue to get away from the keyboard for a bit.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

It's still raining here. I just drove by the creek a few blocks away, and it looks like it's maybe an inch short of flooding.

I just bought a tomato plant and a pot and potting soil. I think I'll wait for it to stop raining before I put it all together, though -- I think it's too heavy for me to put the soil in the pot indoors and then carry the whole thing outside.
