I add stuff to written To Do Lists after I do them so I can cross them off, but I'm using an electronic one right now and when things get checked off they just disappear and that is not nearly as satisfying. That is, it's satisfying to have the total number of outstanding tasks go down, but adding and checking off at the same time doesn't work so well.

Ah. Yes. I find that style of list unsatisfying. When I was keeping them on livejournal, I used to use strikethrough for that very reason.
