She thought going to print with an obviously wrong date was just fine, and if only you'd mentioned that that date was in the future!

Great pics, Lisah!
she said that she shouldn't have to redo it because it was my fault for not telling her to change it.
Um..yeah..somebody needs to learn the concept of boss and subordinate.

this is something that a lot of young people don't realize. I have started having a very frank chat with my student assistants before I hire them.
Blrgh. Last week, I got an email from the big law librarians association saying I had won a drawing for free registration to the annual meeting in Philadelphia, which would have been awesome because I would get to see Sparky and meet some of the people from Philadelphia I work with a lot, but there's no way I can go this year.
Small consolation--one of the reasons I can't go this year is that I will be cavorting in Vegas with Plei and Cashmere and Brenda (I think) just a few days after the conference.
I had won a drawing for free registration to the annual meeting in Philadelphia . . . I would get to see Sparky
YAY
but there's no way I can go this year.

I am totally willing to share responsibility, but I hate that knee-jerk "not my fault" thing! It is partly her fault, and anyway, would you say that to your boss!
Even if it was ENTIRELY your fault (which it wasn't), she'd still be responsible for redoing it. Because you're her boss and you TOLD HER TO.

Yeah, wow, that's quite an attitude to have.
I am occasionally astonished at the level of True Stupidity people can exhibit.
My case study is for a report that had a table in it. I told the junior staffer who was making the corrections to change the table so that the names down the left side were in alphabetical order.
She did so: but she only re-sorted that column. So that all the rest of the data in the table was now out of order.
She was 25 years old and had a master's degree from a well-respected university.
This was years ago; to this day, I can't believe it.
