Ah, yes, of course. The gypsies, they gave you your soul. The gypsies are filthy people. Ptui! We shall speak of them no more.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

Have we heard from Kate P., with the flooding?

I thought they were in Nashville (i.e., a couple hundred miles away) -- am I remembering wrong?

And none of us deserving the cruelty or the grace -- Leonard Cohen

They were driving to Oklahoma City last week, because her DH's grandmother was sick, but I'm not sure if they're back yet. He was supposed to go to Ireland this weekend, but it may have been postponed.

I haven't trusted science since I saw the film "Flubber."

You're right, it is Nashville. Sorry, worrying instincts took over.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I just was in a meeting with a fancy new interactive/news guy, and I said that it's ideal if I know about things a year before they happen. Hee. His head almost exploded, I think.

I just checked in with her. They ended up flying to Oklahoma City because the flooding in Arkansas was going to be too bad to drive through. She's back at work in Nashville, and her DH is still in OKC with family.

Thanks for checking, amyth! Do we have anyone else along the Mississippi? MtBF, you're around Memphis, yeah? But I know I've seen you posting, so I'm assuming you at least aren't totally underwater. Anyone else?

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Matt's near Memphis though.

(ETA: Or, what Amy said.)

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

I'm about 70 miles from Memphis, and up on Crowley's Ridge, so no direct flooding fears. But I can't easily travel an hour either way to see relatives thanks to flood dangers in between.

I think Dcp is still in the western half of the state, but it's much more hilly on that side so danger should be restricted to river valleys.

Glad to hear that you and the relatives are safe - but I hate it that you can't get to them. Hope everything is normal-ish soon.
