This is my boat. They're part of my crew. No one's getting left. Best you get used to that.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

It's no worse than I thought it would be, I'm getting up to speed fast enough, though it's going to be a while until I have enough of the produce codes memorized to zip through those. The managers and coworkers seem pleased with me, and I even got offered an extra six hour shift this week, which takes me up to nearly 30 hours. Still not enough to live on, but it keeps my remaining savings from draining off too fast.

So far, the hardest part of the job is STANDING, for hours at a time. Which I should be able to build up endurance for. They typically give you a break after two hours, even to reminding you to take it, so I'm pleased with the way this particular supermarket is managed.

It also helps that this market is on the border of Somerville and Cambridge, so we get everything from retirees to professors to WIC recipients (and quite often you wouldn't be able to guess who is which) so it's an interesting mix of customers.

Happiest of birthdays on Thursday, zusia!

Justice Ginsberg is dissenting from the bench! I love when she speaks truth to power.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I'd imagine the right shoes would make a big difference there, and possibly be different than the right shoes for walking, etc.

Connick, DJ, an opinion they handed down today. Wal-Mart gets argued today, but the arguments aren't piped into the press room, so they don't get live blogged as when opinions are being handed down.

Justice Ginsberg read her dissent from the Bench, which is printed after the Opinion (J. Thomas' first this term) and Scalia's Concurrance (which is a response to Ginsberg's dissent).
