Did a lot of skippage, but am I the only one who is a little suspicious of the whole "buried at sea" bit?
The top 40 station here was playing "patriotic" songs this morning. I tuned in just as "Proud to Be An American" was ending, and then "Born in the USA" started. They keep playing that song. I do not think it means what they think it means.
My understanding is that a sea burial was the only way to both honor Muslim tradition and avoid creating a martyr's tomb.
[eta: "only way" is probably overstating it, but that is the reasoning I've heard.]
There was also another Fox affiliate where the broadcaster actually said "President Obama has confirmed that President Obama is, in fact, dea- oh, sorry."

DavidS, or anyone else who knows: In the TV movie "Burn Notice: The Fall of Sam Axe", Bruce Campbell played a Navy SEAL, and he is repeatedly called "soldier", even by his fellow officers. Is that accurate?
