I kind of just assumed that whatever color the maid of honor wears is dictated by the bride - you're not supposed to decide all on your own to wear white to a wedding, but if you're MOH and the bride tells you, "White!" all you say is "Yes, ma'am," and come the wedding day you are by God in white 'cause she said so and she's the boss of the day.
