Bellybutton day to Noah and Grace!
I just bought my DSLR, but it makes me feel awkward with how big and touristy it is. I didn't even bring it on this trip, because it would've taken up too much room in my luggage, and might've been stolen. I considered that when I bought it but didn't realize quite how ridiculous I'd feel with it
That's why I have a DSLR and also have a very good very small point and shoot. The DSLR is great when you are willing to carry the big camera, but the best camera in the world is the one that you have on you.

I am having basic colour theory problems. Can someone not color-tone-blind (as in, nothing clinical, I just don't *get* it) help me with the basics of choosing highlight and shadow colours?

OMG, my family. I can't tell the story so it makes any sense, but my mother and I just cracked up for ten minutes about almost getting in trouble at the Alzheimer's quilt exhibit we went to yesterday. I do kind of feel bad for the poor woman who was trying to give us some literature about signs and symptoms, because all three of us were like, "Oh, WE KNOW."
