I was shocked, on Sunday, when speaking with my mother on the phone, to find she has joined the modern age: she was watching Parenthood "on the internet" because apparently there were too many tornado warnings when she was trying to watch it on the actual TV (whenever it aired). TV on the internet! My mother! 21st century, y'all.

My mom probably isn't far behind. And she's caught the sci-fi/paranormal bug pretty late in life -- she's been watching the UK Being Human, and reading softer sci-fi and paranormal fiction (she loved The Strain ). It's sort of adorable.

There is an English verb for this very same notion! (The honour of English is rescued, Steph!) It is "to feague". You can also use ginger, or (if your supplies so incline) a live eel. It was done to horses before selling them, to make them appear more lively (which, I bet it would). Failing to feague a horse for sale would quite probably be grounds for dismissal of your stableboy. Possibly accompanied with the declaration "Summat's gettin' feagued today, boy, an' it's yer own bad fortune ye din't make it the horse!"

I made it out of my day alive. AAA guy totally reached his hand in and did something and everything was fine. AND managed to explain it to me for next time.

The band meeting was not particularly fraught other than with concern that they appear to not actually have any real candidates other than one for the leader who gave notice, like, months ago. It's kinda gonna not matter to me because I was close to outie anyway, but definitely will be gone all summer during the probable hiring and breaking in period.

So. I am home. I am steaming potstickers and drinking chamomile tea, and I should be fine for my early morning tomorrow.

I got all excited because Zoya is doing this Earth Day polish exchange and I thought it was like ours, but it turns out it costs $4 a bottle, minimum 6, anyway for shipping and the exchanged polish gets discarded, not reused. But still, people might be interested, and you could use the polish box for it!

Whoah. What did he mean by that? Like, he wanted to stretch his wings more and do things but isn't allowed to yet by age/permissions/ability? Or?

It sounds self-aware to me, Cash. Not a happy knowledge to have about yourself, though, and obviously going to cause sadness. I think if he were saying things like this daily, or his behavior had changed over the last few months, I would be more worried, but for now I think I would just encourage him to talk it out with you when he feels that way.
