Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I have got to figure out who to complain about about the lack of separation between the end of the show and the preview for the next thing. Makes me nuts!

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

Skipping to the end to announce: the bees are installed. That was not so hard, but having some fraction of 10,000 bees buzzing around one's veiled head while one moves the queen does get the adrenaline up!

We have a friend who's about to set up a hive (I did not realize that one can ship bees through the US mail), and I impressed him with my knowledge of making simple syrup to get the bees started. I eventually confessed that I learned it from you, and lost all my bee cred. But I'm tickled that now I know TWO people who have bees.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Ah, fuck. Just realized my coop shareholders meeting is the same night as a pub quiz I was supposed to go to. It's probably bad form to send a proxy when I'm on the board, right?

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

Yeah, that was weird. Stonewall uprising was over, and then people got on a bus as Freedom Riders. Took me a second to realize it wasn't the same program.

It's worse (although less confusing) when some traumatic story suddenly turns into something wacky.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

He meowed and purred for me. Which he hadn't done since Sunday morning. He's asleep on the couch with me.

Aw, that's wonderful.

Yay bees!

Hah! "We marched from Stonewall to the South!"

That was not so hard, but having some fraction of 10,000 bees buzzing around one's veiled head while one moves the queen does get the adrenaline up!

Whoah! Go t!!!

I've always heard Bilitis as Jesse pronounces it.

And now I'm missing the audio from the Stonewall program because the National Weather Service is informing us that there's thunder.

I was shocked, on Sunday, when speaking with my mother on the phone, to find she has joined the modern age: she was watching Parenthood "on the internet" because apparently there were too many tornado warnings when she was trying to watch it on the actual TV (whenever it aired). TV on the internet! My mother! 21st century, y'all.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

You all have invisible internet bee cred, now. And dibs on honey, someday.

Yay MK feeling better!

Vortex dinner breakfast party sounds amazing.

Because books.

-t, the bees are so cool. And very scary, if you're me, but also cool!

My mom probably isn't far behind. And she's caught the sci-fi/paranormal bug pretty late in life -- she's been watching the UK Being Human, and reading softer sci-fi and paranormal fiction (she loved The Strain ). It's sort of adorable.

Occasionally I’m callous and strange

backyard beekeeping is so cool!! I desperately wanted to start a hive or 2 but my property is so teeny anywhere i put it would be too close to a neighbor's house :(

Also hooray for MK purring and getting to be home with his person and places that feel and smell right.
