Rushed him to the Pet ER. Couldn't tell if he had a stroke or was doing insulin shock (low blood sugar) cause the Karo wasn't doing much of anything and he was getting worse.
It was low blood sugar:48. It should be in the high one hundreds at a low. No idea why he reacted this time, they're going to check for secondary infections, since that can trigger it.
But looks like he might be pulling another of his miracles. He's spending the night at the hospital.
And now I have to finish cleaning the house and now, the cat carrier.
They refuse because they think pain meds is not the way to go to treat your headaches, or they don't prescribe for patients in general?

Neither. As far as I know they prescribe for other patients and agree that I need pain management. They just say they won't do it.
sara, that sounds like what happened with Swifty last year. On a Sunday night. Hope they can stabilize Mister Kitty soon!
I made vegan gefilte fish. It's an OK vehicle for horseradish. Needs way more flavor, though.
ita, you need a better Pain management clinic!
I'm not clear on their rationale. I'm hobbling myself by trying to stay within the UCLA network. Because if I get a pain clinic outside, their recommendations to the ER carry no weight. So...I got nothing either way.
but if you get a good pain management clinic and treatment, maybe you won't need to go to the ER?
God, ita. Suck suckity sucking suck. Why don't things work the way they ought to? Why won't they prescribe? That's ridiculous.
sarameg, my sister had to take one of her cats to the emergency vet this morning with low blood sugar. She thinks the cat might have had a ministroke. They adjusted the cat's insulin dose. Glad Mr. Kitty's feeling better, hope he continues to recover.
