Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Sara, I'm so sorry.

LeN, I have a pain clinic. They will neither prescribe pain meds nor tell the ER what to give me. Intermittently they perform a nerve block which cuts down on my neck pain and give me lots and lots of sympathy.

For some reason, for pain, it's in the hands of my migraine specialist. And he's been a little hard to pin down recently.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I think we need a job category for on-call migraine EMT with prescription powers.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

ita,

forgive me for being dense, but what is a pain clinic for if they don't prescribe pain meds?

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

I say we call them Spring Ovoids and balance them on their flatter ends.

Fuck if I know. They're supposed to be the specialists in pain meds at all levels, right? Side effects, interactions, everything? But they refuse.

Rushed him to the Pet ER. Couldn't tell if he had a stroke or was doing insulin shock (low blood sugar) cause the Karo wasn't doing much of anything and he was getting worse.

It was low blood sugar:48. It should be in the high one hundreds at a low. No idea why he reacted this time, they're going to check for secondary infections, since that can trigger it.

But looks like he might be pulling another of his miracles. He's spending the night at the hospital.

And now I have to finish cleaning the house and now, the cat carrier.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

They refuse because they think pain meds is not the way to go to treat your headaches, or they don't prescribe for patients in general?

Neither. As far as I know they prescribe for other patients and agree that I need pain management. They just say they won't do it.

Punishingly Intricate

sara, that sounds like what happened with Swifty last year. On a Sunday night. Hope they can stabilize Mister Kitty soon!
