A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

It sounds good, shrift. I had a Bertolli frozen pasta thingie, but tarted it up with butter, chicken stock, sauteed shrooms, lemon, cheese and fresh spinach. And a cheese breadstick.

And some DoubleStuf Oreo cakesters. I don't love oreos, but I am SO glad those cakesters come in little packages of two, or else I could eat a fuckton.

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

I haven't been posting much lately, but I've been trying to keep up.

Gud - I hope a better and brighter opportunity is right around the corner for you.

Jilli & Pete and FredPete - I'm so sorry for your loses.

Msbelle - congrats on the part time job.

I've been enjoying K-Bug time, making plans for her graduation and moving out here. CJ's play is next week, so rehearsals are running longer and longer each day.

Jilli and Fred, sorry about your losses.

Gud, here's to finding a job super fast!

msbelle, YAY new job.

I just got news that my friend David died on Monday. It wasn't a giant surprise -- he'd been battling cancer for years, most recently throat cancer followed by brain tumors. He'd been doing a slow retreat from life. The last time I saw him was in late spring 2010 when Grace and Noah went by his place. Pretty soon after that, he moved in with his son.

I will miss him so much and I'm wreaked that my children won't remember him better.

Kat, I'm so sorry about your friend.

Damn, today has (mostly) sucked, hasn't it?

Tomorrow damned well better be...better. Or else.

They'll remember him, through you. My middle name came from a woman who died before my memory took hold. But I know Marguerite, a fab LWV woman whose ERA blankies and onesies and crocheted sweaters and mitts are all in a cedar chest and I knew where they came from, long after I wore then. Cause of my parents.

It rather sucks, but also is a gift, those [friend]parents who don't live through our lives. Best can be is that the living parents gift the kids with the awesomeness that was, and how it happened when they were too wee to recall.

I really need to figure out what do with with my smartphone before I head to London. Not that Hec's ass ever calls.

dunno about your brand, but if you put it in airplane mode and then turn on wifi, you'll be fine (if you're not planning to make calls). That's what I've done every time I leave the country. I figure if I NEED to I can turn on the phone, but generally I just leave it in airplane (so I can use non-internet apps) and then hook up to wifi as needed.
